The V-Strom is fine for the city.

The NC is the perfect commuter bike, very tame and even has a large storage space with enough room to store a helmet. But it has about as much character as a washing machine. It's the most boring bike on the planet, literally a glorified scooter.

The nc750x is perfect in every way, except for the engine being boring. But it really doesn't have flaws beyond that. Not expensive, great mpg, great storage space, some low end torque, reliable. I'd buy the strom.

V-strom is top heavy. It would be nice to have long and strong legs. It is absolutely OK for commuting, handling is very easy, especially for its size. I can`t say about mileage, my has only 20K km. NC has no engine.

Most likely not, I'm planned in at work during the time for SEM. So unless something gets cancelled or delayed by the customer I can't make it.

The only tracks near me require you to have a valid license for a certain period of time, either 6 months or a year. Which is stupid.

I'm already amassing gear and getting used to wearing it. I have an entry level pair of boots that I wear when I'm cruising. They were super weird at first because I was used to wearing canvas shoes, and I kept missing shifts because I couldn't feel the lever. Now that doesn't happen any more than it did when I rode in just shoes. And I look that much more like a storm trooper.

I'd also want to do a track day with other riders, and I don't really have any riding friends.

As far as upgrading goes, the only thing I really want is a little more torque and a higher redline. When I go from a light, I'm in 3rd gear by the time I get to the other side of the intersection. Every single other thing about the CBR300R is pretty awesome.

At least now I have pretty great clutch and left foot skills.
