Of all the teams, Team Dark and Chaotix seem the closest. Team Rose is constantly rotating its 3rd member. And Sonic keeps ditching people and meeting up with them at a later time.

Yeah but Colors and Lost World is only a few times where tails starts out with Sonic.
In Adventure 1, 2, Heroes, and Unleashed, Sonic isn't hanging out with tails until the plot gets started.
It'd play like Shadow the Hedgehog and have two possible bosses at the end that you get to by either being good or bad on the last level.
The secret ending has them both fuse.
Maybe because Tails and Knuckles have lives outside of being Sonic's butt-buddies. With Team Dark, they're the only people they've got. And the Chaotix... have never really been elaborated upon. Huh.

I'm really close to getting 100% on Adventure 2. I have 169 emblems so far. All I need to do now is the Cannon's Core missions and the Chao Races/Karate. To answer your question, yes it was pretty tedious. I'll admit, I did find enjoyment out of doing the Sonic/Shadow and Knuckles/Rouge levels, but the Tails/Eggman levels can die in the 7th Circle of Hell. So yeah, it's not absolutely soul crushing until you get to the Tails/Eggman levels, but I would definitely NOT recommend doing it to anyone.

I have 100% in both Adventure games, and actually started working on Heroes today. Getting all the emblems in the Adventures wasn't too bad, but the Chao emblems made me want to kill myself. Everytime that faggot tripped over himself during a race was like a kick in the dick.
I think the only Sonic games I have are Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic Colors.

I want to see Team Rose and Team Chaotix collaborate more often. Maybe in spin offs.

A) I know for a fact that the story in the Chaotix manual was completly different in the Japanese & English manuals, so "Muh manuals" isn't exactly a coherant argument here, and
B) It's not inconcievable to me that the characters could change their disositions in the however-many adventures between Chaotix and Heroes
I guess you're right. Nothing "prevents" Chaotix from being canon. But it still seems weird that Espio just became a ninja between Chaotix and Heroes, and Vector just became greedy and a detective.

100% SA2 here. I completely cheated. All the way back in 6th grade (9 or so years ago) someone I was friends with copied his file over to me. It's not that great and I can't get above a C on SA2's GHZ.

But personally, it'd be cool if he was, he's got a much more laid back and sarcastic personality and it'd be more gameplay, as long as they didn't actually go with Boom gameplay 1:1 and made a new standard for the spin-off. Like a kind of fast Ratchet and Clank or something.
I don't see it happening but y'know, Boom Sonic is genuinely one of my favourite portrayals of Sonic, outside of Adventure and Burke.

As a kid of around 6/7 I 100%'d sonic adventure DX, with my brother who was only 2 years older than me.
I hadn't realized I'd done it until a good number of years later when I had vague memories of playing as metal sonic, though I was adamant that wan't something you could do in SA1. I found we had the DX version in the attic with the gamecube, and well, we had done it.
For sonic adventure 2, I was sort of friends with an older kid who showed me how to raise chao and stuff. We were working on an all S chaos chao when we stopped contact for whatever reason. Never did get all the emblems on that one.
