>End up going to local Ford dealership to look at ecoboost >Can't decide between Mustang, Focus, truck, etc. >Only really liked the Mustang >Bragged to about it while on the test drive, loving it even more. >On the test drive end up doing a skid, and embarrassed a chevy. >On the way back to the dealership, pretty much sold on the car. >Start to go through papers to buy this beast with the salesman >Take that sweet baby home
Wife asked me why I bought it, I told her to read the first letter of each line.

...but it's a 3,532 pound 4 cylinder?
Seriously, I have nothing against ecoboost, but why would they put it in such a fucking heavy chassis?

No idea how they managed to make it retard ham planet heavy when the STI is 3400 and the Evo is around 3550. But the 2.3 still is a great buy with the 3.55 gears.
Ryder Flores
I think it's because it's a dimensionally large vehicle.
>2016 Mustang: 188″ L x 75″ W x 54-55″ H
>2016 Toyota Rav4: 181″ L x 73″ W x 66″ H >2016 Honda CRV: 179″ L x 72″ W x 65″ H >2016 Ford Escape178″ L x 72″ W x 66″ H
Why do American car companies make their coupes as big as SUVs? It's a fuckin coupe! It's suppose to be compact and sporty! Why do they all weigh nearly 2 tons and take up more space than a utility vehicle?!
Hunter Ward
Omfg... this is priceless.
The Ecoboost Mustang also weighs the same (or more) as these things!
>2016 Ecoboost Mustang: 3,532lbs
>2016 Escape: 3,502 to 3,645 lbs >2016 CRV: 3,358 to 3,624 lbs >2016 Rav4: 3,455 to 3,630 lbs
Yup. Totally convinced to never buy an ecoboost. Hope you enjoy your 4-cylinder boat anchor, OP.
Landon Davis
I've wondered about this too.
The numbers certainly seem ok for the car's weight, but making that much power and moving around that much weight with a stock 4cyl (even a large-ish one at that) seems a bit sketchy.
But I guess it's the big question with all the Ecoboost engines... how well will they hold up over time compared to their N/A counterparts?
Levi Turner
I hate Fords as much as the next shitposter, but to be fair those aren't SUVs. They're glorified tall hatchbacks.
Adam Foster
To be fair, they also have seating for 5 with cargo, ample foot and head room, and all-wheel-drive.
Lincoln Johnson
Tbqh senpai this was bait from beginning, hopefully I didn't rustle your Jim Jims too much m9
Caleb Gutierrez
why are people bragging about things that mitsubishi did in the 90s?
Jaxon Diaz
>First On Race Day Inb4 "At least they circled the problem"
Justin Ramirez
The same reason people are bragging about things Ford did in the 60's. Because it's true.

Why doesn't ford put the ecoboost v6 in the mustang?
The current gen Mustang is so much better than everything else in the price range.
Miatas and toyobaru do not compare
Mustang is just a better set up car. It feels better to drive
Dominic Wilson
it'd compete too much with the V8
Kevin Long
Their v6 ecoboost makes less power than their na v8.
