Kikiluv on Tumblr. I found it by way of DA initially, some person named 8feet apparently commissioned it. Checking the artist just now I wouldn't really recommend visiting them. The snek pic isn't all that great, but it's new, so eh. The snout area specifically is just way off.

Hey I'm the Amerilard from the last thread who went to sleep after everyone's helpful posts. Just wanted to share my experience with my first run that basically won my heart.
>finally develop my main squad of Colonels made up of my heavy that survived since first mission, (I named him Harry), an assault I picked up from another mission (kept his generated name Bose, a sniper, another heavy, and a support. >Harry and Bose been together all this time, total bros always running and covering each other. Both first Colonels >my first Assault on an alien spaceship >run sweep through entire ship, can't find any more enemies wtf... >see there's a lower level WHOOPS, decide to have Harry check it out even though he's last to move (I learned NEVER to do this again...) >3 fucking Chryssalids right fucking there swarm him >also a commander sectoid? What does that mean >turn ends... I try to close my eyes >Harry gets hit by all 3 Chryssalids and dies horribly. I realize I forgot to save before the mission started Commander pulls back >rush to ledge with sniper and support. Take out all 3 Chryssalids with Bose, my heavy, and the support. >Harry rises as a zombie, OMFG commander comes back and mind controls my sniper from the ledge OMGOMG NO! >Bose runs right up to Harry... I can't bring him to shoot... I end the turn >Harry beats Bose to death in one hit, sniper turns to support next to her and head shots from point blank. I just lost 3 Colonels in 1 turn >next turn my heavy takes out the commander and mission ends >I look at them on my wall after the cinematic and decide to reset way way back before this point because it hurts too much
Holy shit what a journey though for a first run.

Always sucks losing those first people, especially if you've had a good leg going and they're pretty well established. I can't blame you blame you for loading an earlier save. It'll still haunt you though.

With hindsight, does anyone else think that the story, pacing and dialogue of Xcom 2 were dogshit bad? The gameplay itself (performance issues aside) was pretty fun once you adjusted from the previous game, but I thought that everything about the way the story was presented was embarrassingly bad in a Hollywood blockbuster kind of way.
Angel Carter
Felt pretty average too me. The story advances the plot forward and basically makes sense, which is good enough.
Hunter Gray
aah yeah, base defence... this one is kinda easy, so that's a plus also, why can't I take a SHIV on it?
>be me, Oyeyemi Olawunmi >chill on the base with my buddy when the alarm goes off >some fast running Indian lady throws me a laser rifle and tells us to go defend the base >I never asked for this >watch as my friend gets hit by a giant mech >he slowly bleeds out while all those "soldiers" in three layers of armor and fancy gadgets run around >meanwhile I get this old discarded scrap metal that doesn't even have sleeves >feel good that I managed to throw a grenade and not kill myself >commander thanks me for removing the alien's cover and tells me to keep watch in a corner >suddenly, a floater pops out of fucking nowhere (seriously, he just appeared from above) and hovers over my head >the XCOM troops have plasma and pulse weapons and can't even kill one stupid floater >he is however scared of them for some reason and decides to fly away >try to regain my composure when a giant disk appears and flanks me >close my eyes, this is the end... >... >somehow, I'm still alive >nobody cares about me, the commander is just urging me to get out so he can fire a rocket >when will this nightmare end?
Michael Foster

Sometimes it just doesn't proc. I've had it happen before. One thing to note is that it will not proc if the moving unit is on a different elevation. Also, they have to step into the zone and then move again. But it still does not work at all sometimes for seemingly no reason.
Austin Moore
Does anyone feel like the maps are EW's biggest strength and weakness at the same time?
Compared to XCOM2's maps where you can pretty much bring one squad comp to cover all your bases, EW's maps are all drastically different and will fuck you up if you bought the wrong team comp, thank god for the LW's albeit vague map description but it still helps
Dominic Gray
Yes.
I didn't need hindsight, I thought it was dogshit at the time and I know it's dogshit now.
Jordan Jenkins
I just got back to the game from a long hiatus to try out all the new stuff. Back when I last played, I had a homemade mod that increased the number of enemies in a pod, and the number of pods on missions. That mod is broken now, apparently, and I'm trying to make sense of the changes. What the fuck is an "encounter bucket" and why did they add it?
Benjamin Hernandez
>not nearly as good as people make it out to be
I'm going to have to disagree, on the grounds that The Witcher 3 is exactly as good as people make it out to be. It shames most other efforts, and makes The Elder Scrolls look like a half-finished child's toy.
Juan Walker
...
Joseph Harris
>Makes the Elder Scrolls look like a half-finished child's toy.
Thank fucking God somebody finally said it. Elder Scrolls is completely overrated as a series. That said, XCom LW and XCOM 2 are still far and above the better games over Witcher 3, which is actually just a straight-up work of plagiarism.
Ayden Sullivan
>straight-up work of plagiarism Never played Witcher 3 but I highly doubt that.
>Witcher 3 >just a straight-up work of plagiarism. Just because the general is not about it doesn't mean you have to talk shit about it, Witcher is a great game. Didn't you see the main dev destroying SJWs on twitter? Polish people are based.
Xavier Sanders
>while the games are not directly derive from the novel and thus not completely plagiarized works So right off the bat, your starting argument is wrong >features the same protoganist This is your actual argument >Most of the narrative they penned themselves with no guidance from the novels >the core narrative is a totally different story Which means even if the argument was correct, the majority of the witcher game is clearly original work >nothing new under the sun ins't an argument It's a fine argument, just saying it's bs doesn't refute it, though in this case it hardly matters.
>in global politics a year is proportionate to a minute More bs said forcefully that means absolutely nothing
>And arguing that - if we don't know - then it's probably best to fall down on the side of skepticism and caution. Yeah, so that means we have to assume this guy's argument right? I don't think so.
This is about the legal battle between the author of the witcher series Andrzej Sapkowski and the author Michael Moorcock, and not the Witcher video games. The Witcher game series is just a side issue, connected, but not the real problem. So the Witcher 3 is not a plagiarized work.
Also this guy is really, really annoying.

so is Kill Zone just buggy as fuck
been a while since i played it and it just doesnt work anymore, ive had a killzone down with 10 people in it and when they moved nothing happened
Xavier Phillips
Are you trying to use it from concealment?
Jack Wright
That might be it hes got Phantom from the free ability.
So even abilities that use overwatch wont overwatch properly in conceal
Jaxson Thomas
Yeah they changed kill zone so it does not activate from concealment. RIP kill zone imo, that was it's greatest strength. You can still get use out of it, but it's still overwatch and thus unreliable imo. Starting an ambush with it was super strong and covered for it's weakness.
Owen Hall
The month of July saw 9 deployments over a 6 day period. XCOM managed to field 8 operatives for all missions but the injuries and fatigue wounds were racking up toward the end. Should I buy the alloy SHIV? Or just take 2-3 regular SHIVs and treat 'em as expendables? I know the alloy is overpriced, but I feel like the robot I want to count on when I can't bring out a soldier should be tough as nails, and all my scouts have low profile.
Michael Gomez

Did they even make this possible to mod in? Seeing third parties in the AO doing their own thing would be pretty cool and break up the monotony of visiting this farm every couple of times I shoot down a small UFO.
Caleb Rodriguez
X1 probably doesn't have the modding capability. X2 definitely does though. So basically we need a full X1 conversion mod for X2.
Justin Diaz
This made me think. Disregarding the fact that it would probably be an insane amount of work, wouldn't it indeed be possible to implement a third faction? I'm far from knowing the logic behind it, but ruler reaction basically trigger after every soldier movement that isn't a free action. By giving reactions to third party allies and modifying it to trigger after the last player/alien action, it would basically create a third phase in the turn. Having them join you after the mission if they survive doesn't seem to be too complicated either, since there's already a script in place to have sci/engis join you once they rescue you. Would it even be possible to do all this or I'm just dreaming?
Jonathan Foster
Someone always has a mod that includes exalt as another faction and you can have a three way fight. Also the three phase turn already exists in the vanilla game. Remember that in retaliation missions, the turn order is you, the ayy, and then cives. They have their own separate turn to themselves that follows the same rules as other units.
Joshua Perry

Is the early large landed guaranteed to appear in your starting country or can it appear in another country where you don't have satellite coverage?
Zachary Walker
It doesn't have to appear where you have satellite coverage, at least I don't think so. It is just very likely.
Why? It hardly actually matters if it goes through. You will lose some resources, but if you follow up the next month, the ayys should launch more missions and ufos. You might end up with a bit less resources, but theirs no risk to your roster being impacted by early losses of higher ranked soldiers. It's in no way required at all. In fact, I'd wager that on average, not going on the mission would lead to a larger percentage of successful campaign comparatively.

XCOM EU/EW had way cornier dialogue. XCOM2's problem is that its dialogue isn't corny enough.
Colton Wilson
Name one example. Was it in ASB or something?
Gavin Hughes
It happens in the Stardust crusaders adventure, at least a few times. I think in the episodes somewhere around 10-20. But I've been binge watching them, so I can't recall clearly. I'm certain its the same sounds they use in XCOM. Not always the full sound or exactly the same, but even if they cut off or are distorted my brain reacts every-time. I know I heard the run n' gun activation sound 100%.
Camden Bennett
alloy shivs are actually pretty decent in LW. They're very mobile, decently tanky, and they have a lot of equipment options that give them great perks. I'd recommend it.
Colton Watson
I downloaded the mod that replaces mission timers with infinite enemy reinforcements, reinforcements acting on landing and the All Pods Activated mod, and things have gotten a lot tougher. If you don't have them yet, give them a shot.
I also downloaded the "can only keep corpses you carry out" mod, but I think that might be going a bit too far. Not having stacks of ADVENT corpses to sell off hurts my economy more than I realized.
Parker Turner

good work, get those redshirts in shape for the war to come. I did the entire first two months with nothing but redshirts, except for special missions like landings and council that I promoted a squad for. getting squad size 2 really early lets all the air out of the aliens' balloon.
