Personally, though, I use the Akantor HH with a mixset that has Sharp+1, Weakness Exploit, and Crit Boost.

I feel like Maestro isn't that important anymore, now that double notes are a thing.
You can stack more offensive/utility skills, because HH needs as much offense as it can get.

Blunt charms are extra common so you're better off gemming it into some set like rath or memesol than using akantor or making some retarded mix off konchu, bone and akantor

Where's your line between kick and block, /mhg/? Personally I'll kick a shitter at HR 1 that thinks he can fight Dreadqueen, but I won't block. Blocking comes when I get somebody that walks into a designated gathering room and picks out an HR quest.

You can get S+1 and Challenger+2 with Gore S head, braces and legs + Gore chest and faulds. You'll have terrible fire defense, but it's too good a set to pass.

Otherwise, if you're at the very end of HR, there's a honed blade set you can do by mixing the Dalamadur chest and a bunch of torso up parts. You'll have to do a lot of arena tho.

but now near every weapon can be upgraded to endgame levels and you need to upgrade baseline weapon to certain level to unlock new upgrades

The first Glavenus you encounter (when it's still ????) has more health than usual, right? That one took me forever to kill, but the one you fight for its first official quest died fairly quickly.

Every weapon skin has an upgrade path that can be carried to endgame-tier stats, sometimes with the cost of sharpness quality.

Also, you sometimes are asked to use miscellaneous mats of a certain monster/type instead of specific rare mats.

Other than that, it's basically the same as before.

The only arguably bad thing about the new upgrade system is that a lot of weapons have to be crafted from a baseline from low rank. There's some weapons that can't be crafted from the middle of the tree (which is something that happened before, but is aggravated now).

Other than that, it is beneficial as it gives a lot more options to choose in the end and makes all weapon skins somewhat playable. And trading in a "class" of materials instead of specific ones can be a good way to dump useless scales that pile up after hunts.

Finding vanilla porn doesn't faze anyone. Gay porn (softcore) raises eyebrows, but it's still fine.

When using the Silverwind Axe you can forego Crit Eye entirely, and try to shoot for AuL or EE.
Silverwind with WE, CritBoost, Razor Sharp and EE is probably the comfiest SA set around.
