It just looked less clunky. You walk over to a context sensitive object like a briefcase and you get a little box with a list of commands, pick up briefcase, put item in briefcase etc. It looked clean.
This is like a crooked jumbled mess. I feel like they need to make it look better. It's a bit sloppy and doesn't even really fit the look of the game.
