Pick a class and have fun. I'm enjoying Shadowcrafft myself atm.
The game wil lgive you a ton of free packs, gold and the equivalent of dust, and some legendaries as well right now, so really jsut try stuff up.
Also arena is nice, you do 5 games and try to have the most win out of 5 possible. You will get like 4-5 arena pass easily so try it out
Ben Brode tweets regarding the state of the game and rng in tournaments
>randomness that occurs before decision making is generally good for introducing more problem solving. It can increase skill. >because without randomness, you only need to solve the problem once and then execute over and over. See Chess >when a card's effect has randomness, it can sometimes feel like there was not decisions to be made afterwards. Esp. if last played. >when it ends game, it's an easily referenced point and the game can feel like it was not decided by skill, which can be frustrating >regardless of how many decision points were made throughout the match > but a less skilled player would have lost the ability for a window in which being lucky would have saved them much faster. >hard to identify those decision points that led to giving your opponent an "out". Easy to notice randomness in a card effect.
TLDR; Brode likes random effects on a fuckton of cards because having a meta where the most skilled player consistently wins is cancer

advice on my reno healadin? any suggestions beyond what I have?
I literally just want a specifically paladin deck with reno that just tries to survive and eventually play big shit and justicar. that just sits there and runs aggro decks out of cards by continuously killing shit, mostly by hero powering and playing minions that trade and heal at the same time, with reno as the nail in the coffin healer.
the fucked up thing is I've been having a blast playing it in casual today and have been destroying meta decks in there, midrange hunters and aggro shamans and zoolocks etc. like, it's actually been performing quite well. if your answer is gonna be something along the lines of "hurrr durrr it's casual even if they use meta decks with good curves each match it doesn't matter because muh ladder you just won cause they suck" then in all honesty i might just stick to playing casual since i'm actually having fun for once.
main thing i wish i could add in there would be rafaam as a finisher, would help a lot against control, but i think that might be too greedy. the meta is so heavily aggro-focused right now, i want to focus on beating them.
Jason Phillips
I hope every rng card gets cut from the game so every one of you 'pro' shitters can go on to complain about card draw rng and continue in your own hell

>Any advice for starting out on Shadowverse
READ THIS
First off chose a class you would like to make a deck.
>Shadowcraft is like playing with 40shredder.dek >Swordcraft is aggro shaman. >Runecraft is tempo mage. >Dragoncraft is Druid with 6 Wild Growth. >Bloodcraft and Havencraft are Priest tier with some control or midrange builds, you know what to expect
The best classes are Shadowcraft and Swordcraft because both are the CURVE classes. Control is dead.
Then you log, do or skip the tutorial and you get several packs and 2 Legendaries. By linking your account to google (then you can unlinkin it to reroll), making a deck, getting into a game in solo mode (and then you just quit) you get even more packs. You can get 24 packs this way.
Then you open all packs, if you get no legends, or shitty legends you go and clear app information, and then do everything again until you get the legends you want for the class you want to play.
For example pic related, I rerolled several days until I got Golden Aurelia, Regular Aurelia and Golden Otohime, both Swordcraft legends. Once you get a good roll, you link again your game with google and that way it will never be lost even if your phone dies or some shit.
Daniel Gomez
Because unless you're working on literal computer levels of logic, chess is a game of intuition and reading your opponent's strategy.
There's no 100% correct choice to make at all times if you're a regular human being.

Thank you, I'll definitely do this

>The best classes are Shadowcraft and Swordcraft because both are the CURVE classes. Control is dead.
Why the fuck wouldn't I just keep playing Hearthstone then if it's the same fucking thing?
Benjamin Perry
>two free legendaries >unpack the prince of darkness anyway Rigged
Julian Davis
You can also play on Bluestacks, the pc emulator, however it may have some issues depending on your PC perfomance. Then there's an issue on Solo Mode with the Vampire guy, some PC's crash on his encounter.
1. Install the game 500 MB 2. Skip the 3 Tutorial Maps. (Upper Right Button) 3. Click Story Mission then Escape (Do it Later) 4. Retrieve Mail Box and Link Account for Extra Packs. 5. Unlink Account (To prepare for next the reroll.) 6. Roll 10+ Packs and Gold. 7. If you get 4 Legendary cards continue! (If not, Shadowverse "Clear Data" Android Settings) 9. If you got 4+ Legend, Go back and do 1 Story Mission for 1 Extra Booster. 8. After Solo Mission, Create Deck for 1 Extra Booster. 9. If you get a 5th Legend, keep account and try for more or be happy with it. 10. The two steps below should only be done if you have 5+ Legendary 12. You can also play 1 Rank match for an Extra Booster. 13. You can also get more 2 More Boosters from doing Daily Quest and Missions.
Because there's nearly 0 RNG, but their dominance is mostly because they are the cheapest and easiest to make.
All the other classes have plenty of board clears and can lock you out of the game really easily if you don't play around that shit and go all in without a back up, but since they take a while to build because they are far more expensive and use more legends, you don't see them very often until Rank 5 or so in HS terms per say.
They are viable, just not viable for a newbie and you will not get very good results.
Nicholas Bell
So when you said "control is dead", you just meant there's no way you can make a budget control deck early? It's actually viable if you have the cards? Because if I play this (I siltl have to wait for Steam) I don't want it to just be aggro deck after aggro deck like here. I want it to be a Rock, Paper, Scissors thing.

Elijah White
>testing an aggressive peddler rogue list >6 warriors in a row, including a patron >switch to control shaman since it shits on warrior >first match is priest
when does it end, /hsg/?
Daniel Gray
But RNG makes hearthstone fun, though. It's not the RNG that bothers me about HS but Blizzard's complete and utter lack of competence when it comes to balancing the power level of cards. Shaman is a prime example of this, shit like 477 and 055 and doomhammer/spirit claws aren't even random but they're fucking retarded.
It'd be more productive to talk about the balancing of the power levels of the cards in shadowverse comparatively.
Daniel Brooks

Luis Turner
>So when you said "control is dead", you just meant there's no way you can make a budget control deck early? >It's actually viable if you have the cards?
Yeah, for example right now if you log to play on ladder on the lowest newbies levels, all you face is more than 50% Swordcraft without legends or only a few, like 30% Dragon Ramp with the promo gift legends or subpar Rune/Haven/Blood/Forest decks.
On higher ladder there's a lot of Sword trying to get "legend" easly, Spell Runecraft is legit good (plays similar to freeze mage or tempo mage depending on the build), Control bloodcraft is legit good, and combo decks based on the Purgatory card are really good. The only classes with like one viable build that are not doing great right now is Havencraft because the class is like Taunt over Taunt until you draw Satan and win, and Dragons because you're mostly dependant on drawing your ramp or losing.
I even forgot to mention initially the Forest class. Which is basically the control and combo class, like rogue but actually good.
Jonathan Hill
...a-anyone?

Thanks, but my question is why don't I just play zoo lock instead?

the only thing the portals and kara kazham did was buff yogg
Jaxon Nguyen
To be more clear, at the start you have very little choise but to play curve or tempo cheap decks until you gather enough dust or get lucky with rolls to make the good control decks.
This leads to LOT of people playing the same tempo curve decks at the same time on low ladder which alienates some people.
Then once you get your control deck build, you have to climb a lot and play a lot of tempo curve decks on low level until you get to high level with a variety meta and people making meta calls and shit.
Some people can't just stomach that even if the badly build tempo decks are free wins. Take the /mobage/ general as example, 100% of the players there are stuck on low ladder and hate the cheap curve meta there, but don't have the patience to climb.
Ian King
No because nobody cares about your wild deck you've been playing in casual and you should suck my dick gayboy, you'd probably be into that
