Twinning with a low rank will pair you against other low ranks, so winning is even easier compared to solo if you're half decent.

you're gravely mistaken if as an S or S+ rank you join a low ranker you're almost guaranteed S+ Kill Squad if you do more than twin. Tri and Quad with only one or two S's is a good way too experience your shit getting pushed in repeatedly

/ink/ and the splatoon community was spoilt by regular updates. In most games you get your game and play it for months before a huge update or 2 comes out but we got small ones every week, an event once a month and huge updates every 2-3 months. Once those dried up /ink/ was too spoilt to do as other generals did and discuss game mechanics, strategies, design and such like but rather descended into the trash heap because there was no longer a regular dose of hype and nothing they'll do until the sequel will rock the game to it's very core

no /ink/ only chose to talk about waifus and then by the time people actually wanted to talk about the game it was dead

Even as waifus go Nintendo closed that avenue by not only having a Callie vs Marie Splatfest but by making it the last. You can opine all you want but at the end of the day objectively speaking it's been proven that Marie is the best.

This game and general would be alive and well if everyone kept squadding, making private lobbies and following mockingly or not the competitive scene but alas everyone seems scared to play nowadays and that fear is reflected in their playstyles when they finally do pluck up the shreds of their courage. /ink/ seems proud to be full of shitters whereas before we made merry as our ragtag teams tore apart voicechat using clan tag wearing squads

/ink/ fell apart because it indulged in not only gay waifus but also attention whoring content creators who trashed the general with blogposts and spammed porn until the only people that came to /ink/ were there for the attention whoring blogposting content creators
so when the rest of /ink/ finally realized what cancer the content creators were they forced them to leave but the rest of /ink/ was so cucked that they went to the discord with the content creators leaving behind all of the original true /ink/ denizens and letting the thread die and become victim of shitposting and squads becoming rare and frowned upon
now /ink/ is just a hollow husk of a thread with nobody to post in it except for waifufags and remaining cucks who still choose to squad even now

I think the game pad is up there as one of the most accurate / low latency consumer motion sensors, it really is great.

You only need to get slightly worse before motion controls feel absolutely shit, but once the quality is high enough you basically can't get more one to one than actually holding the weapon.

If he owns a PS4, he probably doesn't think at all.

He wanted to play it but "wanted to have a reason to use his Wii U before buying the game". That didn't make any sense so I asked him about that, and he said "he was too lazy to plug in his console for a single game". In reality I think he didn't play it because his friends who live locally don't care about it.

It's strange though, he came over to visit a while ago and I asked him if he wanted to give the game a try and he declined. What can you do I suppose.

This. It's been discussed plenty of times before, but every time it comes up there's always a bunch of people saying the same thing. If gyro controls aren't the future for console shooters, then I'm completely fucked.

What I realised was that I used to pretty much never aim up or down. I'd just set the reticule up at head height, whip around horizontally and let the auto aim compensate.

I can still play stick shooters just fine, but for some reason I prefer inverted Y axis now. I have no idea why.

Maybe moving the gamepad's got you used to tilting forward to aim down? I've never seriously tried inverted y in anything other than flight sims.

Reposting so we can get this started

Things we need to decide on immediately:

*Format of the Magazine - A general idea of what we want the magazine to look like. Will there be the top voted squid for that category as a full page, and then other submissions on the page next to it in smaller forms? Will the artist decide based on what they have to work with and fits what they're going for? There are no standard rules for real fashion magazine layouts, so we either draft up examples or leave it up to the artist to decide.

*Additional Categories - So far the categories are Full Brand Outfit, With Weapon, Without Weapon, On Location, Streetsnap, and Bonus. Should there be a separate category for the Cover Page? Should there be categories for each in-game ink color? Should there be categories based on some of the Splatfests that were held, like Fancy (Formal) and Costumes? What exactly will Streetsnap consist of?

*Bonus Categories- Suggestions of hypothetical gear and/or locations and outfits based off of the other in-game bands is all we have so far. What other bonus categories should there be?

*Finalize all the guidelines, categories, any other details.

Submissions:
Post in the thread or upload to a provided link that will be provided the image you wish to submit. Create pictures from in-game for your submissions by using postimg.org to get 1280x720 screenshots. Make sure the image already has the appropriate ink color unless it is for a category that doesn't need that (Bonus category for colors that aren't in game along with outfits?). Submissions for certain categories pictures that do not need a specific location to get the correct picture (Ex. Bonus) should default to taking a picture from the Equipment Screen.

When uploading your submissions either to the link that will be provided or in the thread, name the file and/or upload the description following this format:

[Category]_[Ink Color]_[Squid/NNID/User Name]

EX. WithWeapon_DarkBlue_Squilliam

Sumbissions Continued:
Having those qualifiers allows the submission to be sorted and worked with easier and so credit can be appropriately given in the magazine. Any post or upload that does not follow this format will not be counted.
Each person can submit their squid up to 3 different categories, and up to 3 submissions within each category. For example, you can submit Squilliam to Streetsnap, Inkline Full Brand, and With Weapon. You can then submit up to 3 different pictures under Streetsnap, Inkline, and With Weapon if you have different gear sets that still would qualify for each category. If the thread activity accurately reflects the amount of different participants to the magazine, this will curb the amount of any one squid dominating the magazine with their pictures. If we have more unique participants than expected, the amount of submissions might change to something along the lines of being able to submit up to 1 picture to every category. So until further notice or discussion, please keep submissions up to 3 different categories and up to 3 within each.

Finalizing Squids for the Magazine:
Once the submission period ends, there will be polls for each category to determine which squid is the best in their respective category. Other entries who do not win the poll can either be added via placement (2nd, 3rd, 4th guaranteed to make it in but smaller. Honorable mentions?) and/or leave it to the artist to decide which squids would complement the winning squid in terms of style.

If there are any other comments or questions on what we have so far, make them now so they can be addressed before work has begun and it will be harder to change. All the above is subject to change based on discussion on what would be best or practical. Any guidelines, suggestions, clarifications, or other details not included above should be brought up so it can be included.
