See, that's what they want you to think. And while that is technically true, the grind with VM has always had to do more with awakened enchanting than anything else. And of course, Gameforge's shitty setup has it so that enchanting mats are really hard to get unless you spend real money. So everyone hits 65 and then they get this awesome weapon that's only better than mid tier shit if they awaken enchant it past +14 and now they're asked to choose between spending months slowly acquiring mats and just buying the shit in the store. What a coincidence, really makes you think.

Was looking for an MMO to replace FFXIV and found this. I really enjoyed tanking in ffxiv, is it similar at all in this game?

Yeah, getting the MWA would take a hell of a long time, probably not as bad as going through dread and slaughter with that same shitty mwa chance though. Although with awakened enchant chances it could very well be.

Honestly it's a pointless treadmill either way, and just lets you hop on the BiS grind afterwards. Just endless spinning of wheels to get gear for all the nothing you can do

Yeah tanking is decently fun in this game, as is dpsing and healing. That's not the point. The problem is is that there's no reason to do any of it because the game itself is a hollow and pointless experience. It feels nice but there's no sense of fulfilment or any purpose behind the gameplay, it's route and one dimensional

I took a two month break already and just got back into it. I can't take another break because I have to grind imp before next gear cycle. I can't lose any more time. The problem is, is that the grind towards imp is meaningless anyway; the only reason I do it is out of spite. The entire endgame is a grind to the next best set of gear to do harder dungeons with until you get BiS, at which point there's nothing to do with the fear because you already had to do the hardest content the game offers to craft it. It's like Ouroboros, a cyclical catch 22 of a game. I'm trying to spare them this purgatory

Other MMOs I've played were much more fulfilling. Runescape is the grindiest MMO of all time but the grind has a sense of real progress, and you can actually DO stuff with the gear and skills you get, like well written and interesting quests. Same with Mabinogi, which had a worthwhile story and skills that actually allowed you to make things worth a damn, and opened new gameplay. This game's only gameplay is dungeons and PVP, and both need gear to grind for.

Mate, you're in a thread about a game bitching nonstop about how little you enjoy it. I'd tell you exactly what I told you in regardless of your gear. All I'm saying is you don't seem like you're having fun with the game anymore, in any regard, so you might as well not play if that's the case. Killing yourself to get imp won't change how you feel about things, so why bother? Coming from someone who got imp this patch and won't ever do vm again but still enjoys the game for what it is, you really just sound like you could use some time off. I'm willing to admit that this game has its flaws that become apparent when you play it long enough, but it's still a fun experience until it isn't anymore so I wouldn't go out of my way to dissuade new people from giving it a shot.

I'm not mad. Gameforge is clearly very desperate though, since they're giving away former BiS gear for doing something that takes a few hours. Their monetary system is also far more pay to win than EME's. While they do hold some nice events sometimes that make me a little jealous, I'm not mad. I can just recognize shit when I see it, and Gameforge is a shitty publisher.

Playing with ping is terrible, gameforge has stepped up and made it somewhat playable on their servers.
This event could pull in EU players from EME servers, because they get to skip a portion of the grind, and get to be set up immediately.

It's a good as fuck event.

6.9% back damage, and extra line, which could be something like 14 crit, or 6% flat damage.
So, you get an extra 10-13% damage, which makes up for the less attack modifier.

No shit the ping issue is terrible. It says everything about gameforge's quality that for this long, EU players were willing to deal with 150+ ms ping just to not have to deal with gameforge. They're terrible, and this event is desperate pandering that spits in the faces of everyone who bothered to actually make that gear in the first place. It's a bad event that shits on loyal players' efforts in a desperate bid to bring back people who already jumped ship ages ago. I could understand losing EU players because of the "better ping" reason, but not because of this event which, to me, symbolizes everything wrong with Gameforge. Their unwillingness to do what's right by the players they already have; their short sighted thinking; their extremely pay2win enchanting system that makes the starfall event seem more like it's for the money than the players, and the way their quality swings like a pendulum, going from seeming "kind of alright" to "so bad that EU players moved to NA and dealt with horrible ping" in an instant.

Gameforge is a fucking trap publisher. Move back for the good ping, sure, but don't go back because of one event.

The entire game is designed to not be a fun experience. I can't take any time off because then all my progress will be meaningless. Can you do SSH in Wroth? Same thing with my Slaughter right now. I can't stop because then everything I put in will be meaningless. The game's designed to keep you high strung and wired, and to soak up all your time. And I don't even want the Imp, I know damned well it won't change my mind, but no one takes me seriously without it. They say I haven't suffered enough to be able to say the game's flawed. They say my word's not good enough because I haven't wasted enough time. I don't want anyone else to feel the way I feel right now, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Even if I dissuade someone from playing this when they might have enjoyed it, I'd rather do that than not do anything to save someone who might play this and feel this way.

And I have reset scrolls. That still only gets me two SS entries or two DSL entries a day. That's two versas, against the 41 I still need. And it's the same with everything else. The way around this is more characters, but that means I sink more time into them which takes away time I could spend grinding for imp mats.

They've been doing better lately.

Because they fucked up on vmwa, they let everyone convert their vmwa into personal rare alk, on a 1:1 ratio.
They usually have feedstock events, and some other stuff in those events (like now, boxes for spellbind 9, vSES, etc)
And then the SF+12 event, which is good.

You cannot say that SF+12 is a bad event, if you're willing to say so, then you should also be mad about poke mongo events, since that is shitting on people who got their mwa the hard way.
