The final boss loves inspiriting too, so it might be a good idea to use items or yokai that can't be inspirited (notably betterfly as a healer).

Slippery yokai can also be used to dodge inspiriting, though the two I recommend the most is bloominoko and venoct

Whisper's English voice is great. I think all of voices for the mascot characters sound pretty good, actually.

Also, yeah, Jerry (I think that's his name) comes off as just a sweet old man. It's cute.

The fact that Tengu kept his name for being a particularly recognizable yokai coupled with the fact that "Faux Kappa" contridicts his "authentic" Kappa schtick kills me.

Japanese Kappa was so (unexpectedly) handsome. It's unfortunate to hear that this one got a surfer dialect. I'll have to watch it myself though.

I think the surfer voice is cute for Walkappa, but I don't think it really works for Kappa. It's much funnier when a guy who holds himself seriously and has a formal, deep voice decides to do dumb stuff like join a rap group.

I think it's his hair. It's that 80s 90s handsome young male actor hair style. Like something Sean would have from Boy Meets World or the kid from the Terminator.

Not the user you're asking, but Komasan is basically the "pure" character who's naivety and sweet nature makes up a good chunk of the segments in the anime. Most of which are great and involve him succeeding outside his element despite him not knowing much about life outside of country living.

I guess like, for instance, Komasan is the "friendly country bumpkin" type. He means well but he's still naive and technologically challenged. Since he's in the big city it proves to be amusing most times, especially wen paired with certain other yokai like his brother or Whisper.

Starting second game the series starts to take more after the anime so you see those personalities and humor shine through much more than the first game.

Lots of theaters have been added today, as opposed to when the event was announced a while ago, and additional theaters will be added next week.

I was in the second yo-kai watch discord on twitter, and we talked to Brent Pendergrass on voice chat, he thinks that it will be about Nate moving to a southern area with hard to understand accents. I agree with him.

That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. It's a shame Keita didn't stay Japanese in the localization, though. You loose a lot of that "fish out of water" element when you just have a character move states instead of countries.

Honestly for a series set in America i find it really lacking in Dinos and super hero youkai. They eat that shit up. And ninjas too, ironically. I think American children might be more obsessed with them than actual Japanese kids.

The anime will slightly boost sales. The first game sold 400,000 copies which is nothing to scoff at. I predict the online will leave the sales of 2 at about 500,000.

Okay, now that I've actually watched it:

Spoilerina's voice is fine after hearing a few lines of it, and the -rina gags definitely helped. Space Wars is still there, they just changed Mr. Epockman to Emperor Krill for some reason.

No major edits besides the van driving around for a public survey was changed to a political advertisement thing. Space Wars poster wasn't changed and they even mentioned the name Lark at the end from the original episode.

9/10, would watcherina again.
