It's all about coming up with an body/armor/dyes combo you're happy with. But try not to do the armor until after you're happy with the character itself. Step by step, user!

I have the same problem with dyes showing up different shades than I thought they would in various lighting. It gets frustrating and then I end up changing them, only to suddenly want to change them back once I'm in yet another environment.

This game needs less being removed and more tweaking, really. No more downstate escape skills that just prolong the inevitable and more offensive skills with the fourth staying as a bandage. We all know that downed elementalist is going to mist form right as you're about to impale them with a finisher. We all know that thief is going to shadowstep to some other spot just to annoy you. Downed ranger pet heal is too strong underwater and on land.

But now that'll be balancing skills in the game, something that ArenaNet seems too stubborn to actually focus on.

Quickness has been nerfed so drastically over the years, but it's a nice boon to have. I don't understand why you want this removed. I've heard of perma quickness but that's more of a balance problem. Quickness doesn't even affect finishers or resurrecting anymore, so what's the problem?

Slow is so rare and useless in PvE. I'd make it a PvP only condition or something. It's so useless..
Regeneration also seems useless. This boon and condition work against players though, especially on skelks and slow against any playable character. Maybe turn regeneration into a monster-only boon? Slow seems more beneficial in PvP anwyays.

Too fast to be baseline, it wouldn't make sense. People will just complain about swiftness being removed and will ask for faster speeds until even that feels normal.

id suggest for retaliation to maybe have a internal cooldown and then hit harder.
this way it better balances pve combat where npcs hit far more slowly and like a truck and in pvp where plenty of attacks like hundred blades or rapid fire normally get melted from it

Modest and fair, don't see why that would be a bad thing. Better than the alternative where people drop almost instantly if the AI slips on retaliation or an elementalist casts a meteor shower on a WvW zerg.

Perma quickness is literally the main role of the chronomancer in any high-end pve setting.

It's not unbalanced, it's an intended for maximum group damage. Just as revenants give perma fury, or a ps gives perma 25 might.

Suggesting the removal of quickness would kill mesmer in pve and asking to nerf perma quickness would be like asking to stop ps from giving 25 might or revs fury.

Perma quickness chronomancer is literally the only role in raiding and fractals that actually requires any brainpower to be competent at and the difference between an average chrono, a bad chrono and a great chrono is extremely stark.

Also it's a non-issue in pvp since the build just doesn't exist, it doesn't do enough damage and is too squishy.

I prefer the sylvari as they ended up and I have one, it's my main fractal character.

If they were just elves it would be fairly boring, unoriginal and I probably wouldn't have made one as I don't really play elves in other games either.
