Watching a lot of Izanami footage and it seems most don't use her float in combos much at all. Actually most just stick to ground most of the time and only use the float for mobility or a few select combos (mostly corner carry combos).

Maybe because the float combos are just really inconsistent?

Like you said, it's mostly for corner carry. She can do full-screen corner-to-corner screencarry with float, it gets really ridiculous at times. I think her float combos aren't always universal which might be why.

I just got time to start playing the demo last night, so I haven't had too much practice yet. I was having a lot of problems with the float combos though. I think it's a combination of janky aerial hurtboxes, falling targets, and not having the rising/falling momentum to follow your opponents that you normally have in air combos.

They're probably her hardest part in terms of execution, since it takes alot of getting used to. It's not hard to do okay with her even when not using it because of how good her moveset is overall, but she definitely becomes more of a threat with it.

Anyone modded their sticks with Sanwas or Seimitsus before? Help an idiot out.
So I have a JLF harness, and only one end of the wire has the connector, the other end has just bare wires. Both my PCB and the joystick have a slot for the exact same connector, am I supposed to get a spare connector and fucking solder the wires into it? Am I missing something here? That would be idiotic.

Its hard as fuck to get 4k+ with hakumen now without a 6c fatal or other ridiculous starter. almost everything peters out at about 3k for 2-3 magatama used.

renka is jump cancellable, but minus on block now, combos are a lot easier to do in general, and 214d is like a dash forward counter that can lead to about 5k dmg with od, super and ea, which is pathetic for the amount of resources required and the fact you have to land a counter.

Square. Octagonal if you dont want to actually learn how to use a stick because you want to ride the gate.

Square is for easy DPs
Octaganal is for Easy everything else.
Round is for zangief mains.

If you only play Blazblue, then yeah wait. If you play other games then just grab whichever two your missing and give them a go. you won't know if you don't try.

If you plan on doing future modifcation. Buy a soldering iron. You'll be able to fix wall plugs with it when they die.

Leadless solder won't poison you as much but is not as robust.
Normal solder. Don't breathe this. Pretty strong.
Allways wet the sponge, holy fuck.
Allways apply enough to cover flat. Don't leave large balls of solder.
Wear eye protection. Because while most old as fuck vets will tell you its stupid you never know when you're gonna fuck up.
Remember to buy wire covers and shethes for like kurkwa pennies. Because the first sin of wiring is leaving an uncovered wire.

Practice on some spare wire. Make some daisy chains for grounding or somthing, then you don't have to buy any chains yourself if you ever want to build a stick from scratch.

Just bite the bullet. They can't be worth too many yankbucks. Also 5ish days isn't that long of a wait cmon user. CF is gonna take longer.

soldering is easy as fuck and hard to mess up. youd have to push down on the pcb and leave it there to fuck up. you basically just touch it and it melts. little blob and you done. looks like some finesse based thing, and there is some talent to doing it so it looks good, but it will work even with the messiest fuck ups possible. even if you think its bad and want to try again, just touch it, wipe with a napkin and youll have a mostly clean spot again.

Oh and to add to that, if you hate waiting for the iron to warn up then you can buy soldering guns.

So after looking into SKD's work on OSs and optimizations for Izayoi in BlazBlue, I can't help but feel that I'm playing her "wrong".

Also those OSs of his seem to being doable on pad as opposed to stick, making me wonder if I should switch controllers since there seems to be another facet of the game thanks to this.

What does /blaz/ think of this?

When you go to a tournament, play as your sub with the stick and then when things start heating up you switch to pad hidden in your bad with your main. They'll call you the Multi-Controller, the guy who brings two controllers to tournaments.

One more thing, my PCB has a 5 pin connector. I want to get a 5 pin head from a shop and attach my harness wires to that. Will a standard 5 pin head suffice, or do you need some special one for an arcade stick? I have pic related, so I think it should all work fine?

I have a Venom, pic related is the PCB. You can see the 5 pin slot to the left. The joystick has the same slot, so if I just attach a second head to my harness and plug everything it should be fine, right?
Or is there an easier way I'm missing?

On a serious note yeah it should work.
The easier method is what your describing. Hard soldering the wires to the stick would just make them a painful to remove later.

I'm using 2, 4, 6, and 8 a lot more than the diagonals, so oct looks like the right choice.

Harder to hit diagonals without precise movements.

It's comically slow. What makes it good is that it's +3 for the B version, and +5 for the D version, so if they react and block you have a massive frame advantage to pressure reset.

it goes over lows. you can hit it out of startup. probably trade/lose with high attacks if its already top of arc or farther.
