jungle is mandatory because riot enforces hero roles
every match has a dedicated jungle, the difference is in lol it works like a roamer, ganking lanes to secure advantages or help them come back
in dota every jungle player wants to be a core and farm for 20 minutes which weakens your other lanes and takes away farm from positions 1 and 2, thats why everyone hates junglers
