I'm thinking about moving to Chicago for a software job, but my '95 Miata has only seen Alabama and Florida for all of its life so it's rust-free. How expensive would it be to store a car or get a covered parking spot somewhere in the city? I'll probably get an apartment in the city if I go there, and would likely be able to mostly work from home (software engineering for the win).

Out in Romeoville there's this place called All World Storage where they have retired fixed up shipping containers that you can rent for 80 a month. If you're looking to park and leave it there and not touch it at all till spring, I'd say it's a great option.

My front speed triple (motorcycle) tire costs $495 to replace and lasts 3000-4000 miles. Labor is like $100 for them to remove 1 tire. Cry me a river.
