Nice trips corolla bud

>no double wishbones
>only in shitty sedan chassis
>no 9k rpm
>tuners don't touch em with a 10 foot pole

>Worst car in its class forever
>Not actually more reliable than anything else
>Newer ones are fucking numb as shit with noticeable delay on the electronic throttle, extremely forgiving clutches and sloppy as shit, long as shit gears

>implying

>being this mad at the best selling car on the planet
Cant even afford a corolla user?

theres a reason people use civics
nobody builds corollas

>want to see tuned corollas
>its nothing but ae70s and ae86s

>nobody builds corollas
Nah no one

>what is GT?
>Levin/Trueno BZ-Touring, Carib
>what is 20valve?
>being american

>knowing nothing of corollas
Wew

>nobody builds corollas
cunt. they are just as popular to modify as civics
move to a free country

>just got a 1991 prizm/corolla
4age bolts right up to this right? has a 4afe now.

>that evo

Yup

They made a prism with a 4age too. The GSI model

It's more like the few people that build corollas have some mechanical aptitude beyond bolt on the fucking turbo and are actually deep enough into the car scene to find aftermarket that isn't on google.

stop trying to trick some poor kid into buying a corolla as a sporty fun car

It is a fun sporty car
Even stock

corollas are great dude fuck off

>you will never carb'd silver top 4age swap your acura integra
how much is a silver top and everything you'd need now adays anyway

Silvertop is way to weak to move a pigfat integra. K20 that bish.

Silvertops are like $1000 btw

>integra
>pigfat
uh
>k20
too expensive, and I hate that swap

what is going on in this picture?

Maximum turn in

fwd wheelhop cause bad drivetrain

You dont understand cars or physics do you?

fwd is bad

Nah. Its super fun m8

FWD cornering hard

No dorifto only flying off the wheels

By pigfat I just mean not as light as an AE101 that the silvertop came in. Also going from a 1.8 liter B18 to a 1.6 silvertop is just retarded. There is no point in reducing the displacement

Also
>I hate that swap
lol enjoy being slow, K20 has way more potential and is an overall better engine in every way

k20 is boring.

>reducing displacement
just make more displacement? Its not like the engine already in my integra is any good

I just want a carb tuned turbo silver top in my integra user
a gutted integra will be light enough anyway

>just make more displacement
explain

>boring
220 hp NA is boring? ok

silvertop makes barely 145 crank hp. It doesn't actually make 160

corollas are econoboxes not fucking racers

Thats BULLSHIT user and you know it
Silver top is better than black top

what model/year is that?

how do I increase cornering speed on FWD? We use to have FWD tuner generals where it was really helpful but now everyone seems to have gone

Levin GTZBR 4WD

Wut?

>the radiator exploded on my Corolla

Fuck. Waiting on the tow truck to drop it off so I can replace it.

whats the cheapest performance engine you can buy? Then carb it and turbo it! Yeah bro!
Silvertop?

You may have a head gasket issue.
Radiators dont just explode

Hue, plastic.

Hope not. Oil still looks good and I've been keeping up with changes.

toyota
corolla
and phones from Motorola

It's OK man, my Corolla transmission wore out at 150 thousand KMs.

I think Toyota is now just living on it's reputation like Honda in the 90s.

Eh it was just neglected. The coolant was dark brown. I put a brand new radiator in and it's running great now.

The Corolla is what I think of when I think of the word "car"

I love my Toshiba Crayola!

I love my Adam Carolla

>not being American
Fuck off, lesser human being. You're posting on an American imageboard.

> mom calls me saying the Corolla is overheating again
> find her on the side of the interstate
> lost a bunch of coolant
>expansion tank coolant was gray
> pour it out and top both that and radiator
>oil is fine
>drives home no problems
>exhaust is clear

Was it just cleaning out the old nasty shit that was left in the cooling system? Didn't notice any leaks.

This happened in my pickup.
Previous owner put some shit in there. I had no idea.
Eventually coated and clogged everything and got too hot.
Cleaned it out REALLY well and now its great

I suggest flushing the coolant system, they sell coolant flush in a bottle that works super well. Someone might've mixed toyota red coolant with green coolant.

Pic related is the stuff I always use

Yeah I think it just needs a good flushing. Must have been the old stuff trapped in the engine when I replaced the radiator. I did start the car with the cap off and coolant topped and saw it slightly change color.

Noticed a puddle on the ground so the car definitely has a leak somewhere.

youtu.be/WqKg8brqxo0

Got work soon but can anyone point out where this could be leaking from?

Ain't no passing craze.

Hars to tell where. But if you cant see it from above and its coming from the belt side of the engine... then its probably water pump weep hole.
Lucky for you its cheap and easy

That's a fast enough leak that you should be able to just get underneath the car and look at it. Probably a radiator hose or something idk

>tfw no corolla coupe/toyota sprinter with a high revving 2.0 and a 6 speed manual

come on toyota what happened to all your coupes

Yeah I turned the AC to full blast so it could leak fast enough for me to watch it. I can take a better look at it tonight maybe.

> mom just got a shitty paying job like 40 miles away and has to drive this

JUST

Wait lol dude its probably the AC evaporator. Those drip when you have the AC on. Water from the air condenses on the cold coils of the evaporator behind your dash. There is a drain tube that drips water onto the ground, it's normal.

If you want to be doubly sure, taste the stuff dripping out of the car. If it's sweet, it's coolant. It shouldn't taste sweet if it's dripping out of the AC.

Just flush the coolant system and you're good.

Soccer moms don't buy coupes

I'm pretty sure it's coolant. It's parked on a slight incline and this puddle coming down wasn't there when I got the car back home. Gave it a quick taste and it's coolant.

If I keep the AC off I can't see anything leaking so maybe the compressor is the problem? I know before my radiator blew up the AC would get warm then cold over and over.

Fuck nevermind that bitch was pouring out hard after a few minutes.

Found it. This hose starting pissing coolant when it got hot enough. That's a tight squeeze.

I would not trust any aftermarket that wasn't on Google loolololol

Corollas are decent. They really aren't better than any other basic car. They just cost more.. lol

So how much of a bitch is this to replace? I learned from Google to just go to a Toyota dealer to get the right hose. As you can see mine is inflated and ready to burst.

My friend's corolla's water pump is set up the same way, we just used a random piece of coolant hose of the same diameter and trimmed it down. It's a pain to get that piece of hose out tho. Why do they recommend getting the oem hose? It's just hose

A lot of posts I read say they had to buy longer hoses and cut them down while Toyota has that exact size for cheaper. I'm only a mile or two away from the dealer anyway.

I was thinking I could un bolt that metal piping and slide the hose out that way.

tfw trying to purchase a corolla for babbys first car

What years are you looking at?

that might work, good luck

like 98-07

Avoid 98 to 02

this, those early 1ZZs burn oil

Ordered the new hose and it'll be in Thursday morning. Hopefully my mom can make it to her new shitty job and back tomorrow with a bottle of coolant on hand.

alright

She could just put water in, it won't hurt anything. It's summer.

Yeah I'll tell her to fill an empty bottle with water. That hose could split in half though it looks like.

>Toyota will never make a new RWD Corolla without a Subaru engine so I can live out my weeb fantasies
>tfw if they did, it'd be called the Lexus FA-G or something for the US market

It very well could split lol. Scary.

Yeah it's inflated like crazy. If I can take her to work instead I will. My free towing is only good for fifteen miles.

At least scion is gone though. Toyota's future "Youth oriented" cars will probably be called Toyota's at least.

The annoying naming scheme we have with Japanese brands in the US irritates me.

Toyota Altezza is a much better name than "Lexus IS."

funny. my 7AFE celica is leaking coolant too.

i think mine was coming from the water inlet. I didn't scrape off enough of the old gasket gunk.

if you just replaced your rad it's probably a hose lol.

>inflated and ready to burst
did you mean full to burst

was this a reference to what i think it was lol

Yep it is. See It's not being driven until I replace it Thursday. It went from a drip to a constant stream while parked.

Lol no reference intended.

I'm going to agree here, K20 is a way better choice than a Silver or Blacktop 20Valve. Plus 20vs are kind of overpriced as they are.

A Beams 3S out of a Celica or Rav4 would be more comparable to a K20

So then what is a cheap performance engine to fuck with to put in my car? regardless of brand

Depedns on where you are and what you have m8

K20/24
SR20

If you have a Honda just K swap it or B18/B20
