Looking at the gearing process of the other regions, it just kind of hit me that there's no escape from the grind. When we're done farming tomb for the necklace, it's going to be another dungeon for the ring, another one for the earring and so on every month and a half or something. To keep up, I'd have to keep grinding 8 hours a day, first doing dailies and then running the newest hot meme dungeon for the current legendary accessory.

And because of how nothing is worth anything anymore, with all the gearing being tied to these drop items, any difference in gear between players will soon be about whether or not they have the newest legendary accessory and just how much they have been whaling for their hepta gems.

Is there a reason to keep going?

If you're not enjoying doing the PvE content, why are you playing? Just to have a bigger e-penis to waggle around when you have 10 AP more than your friend?

The grind is never ending so that there's always additional satisfaction to doing the dungeons. If that + gameplay isn't enough for you to have fun, then you should probably quit, or go do PvP/whatever.

Before the game launched for NA I remember watching Jaesung and people asking why he doesn't he PVE anymore, he said he use to but the game eventually became P2W and too grindy, at the time I barely experienced content up to level 28 or so on one of the asian versions so I kept thinking to myself "How?! this game is too fun even in pve." fast forward to today and it all makes sense now.

It will only get worse until we have those legendary RNG boxes in the cash shop.

I feel the same way. I didn't really understand what the big deal about the grind was. Even at 50 I felt like I could just grind whatever I felt like grinding and get my gear upgrades with the gold I was making. Now we're all stuck grinding the same dungeon over and over again until we get the drop we need just so we can move over to the next one. That is, of course, essentially the nature of most MMOs, but in this case it just isn't >fun

the game is great to come back to and kill time every few weeks, or just a couple hours a day, but you have to be a little autistic to go deep on the gear grind.

It ends up feeling much better as a casual dungeon grinder/pvp game if you just drop it down to a few hours a day for DCs/Event stuff + occasional grind when you have time to kill.

Do legendary weapons need upgrade materials/breakthrough weapons? Or is it just the evolution weapon and mats/cost each stage? If so, is element powder useless past True Scorp?

They are useless past True Scorp, you go from evolve to evolve.

Just the mats. I wouldn't say it's completely useless as Stage 3 requires you to use a True Profane weapon as a breakthru. But yeah, after that I haven't used them at all.
