It's that time again, /fgg/. Time to play a bunch of dead kusoges (and some not dead kusoges) and watch as people gloat because they're the only people that still play that dead game.

>Points System
This time we'll be assigning a point value to the top 8 finishers in each tournament. The player with the most points at the end of the series will be declared Kusoge King.

1st - 32 points
2nd - 16 points
3rd - 8 points
4th - 4 points
5th/6th - 2 points
7th/8th - 1 point

The man with the most points will be allowed to ban 1 game from the next season's lineup.

-Grand finals best of 5.
-If connection is unplayable attempt to fix it however you can. If it remains unplayable one player may forfeit or you may attempt to play it out.
-Check-in time is 1 hour prior to tournament start. Bracket will be shuffled at start time.
-In the event of a controller malfunction or any other event that disrupts the match the responsible player must forfeit the round. If no player can be determined at fault replay the set with the score before the malfunction.

Take it slow, learn a couple of easily confirmable basic chains (dust, midscreen, corner, air) and then focus on your character strenghts.
For Elphelt it would be dealing with different kinds of air to ground attacks, basic shotgun and pinberry pressure, taking advantage of jump cancellable attacks on block like 2D, doing basic pressure strings, learning to not spam bridal express, and then with some experience you'll start doing better mixups and shit.

You can also watch a couple of Elphelt players on Jonio or Mdsilva's channel for reference

never play fighting games, have none on ps4 or pc, considered for a while now to get SFV to see if I"ll like and to have a fighting game for when friends are over but don't know if I'll ever touch it really. It's on sale now on the PSN the game+season pass for 45$. Should I buy? Wait for something better? I'm in no rush.

we joked about mirror matchups last thread but someone did bring up a good point. characters that have "random" mechanics can cause it to be a different matchup other than 5-5.

what about when characters can be played differently? defensive ryu versus offensive ryu?

Randomness has nothing to do with matchups.
Even if your character had a random amount of health when the round starts the mirror would still be 5-5

Venom is ok even without sanwa parts and it's easy to mod and customize so you can swap out for better parts anytime.

I think moons will go simply because it's the trend for fighting games to reduce complexity and make everything simpler and other melty players I've talked with agreed. I think it would be gay, but it's probably what's gonna happen if "melty blood 2" was made.

I don't think so. Melty is indie bullshit that doesn't have to live up to some legacy and recruit more new players like KoF and SF.
Putting in any Fate character would be sufficient enough to guarantee a bigger audience for the inevitable Melty HD. Nasuverse fans and Melty players are already literal autism. They can handle Moons again.

Crescent and Half need to be merged. Add more moves to both moons.

Some moons are just useless at the moment and fucked up balance hard even if said moons are fun to play with they are so shit it's kinda impossible to win with them at high level.
So yeah getting rid most of the moons should be done.
Also if they create meltan 2 they should fucking add an option to completely change the animations of arc-drives,last arcs while keeping the number of hits and starting mechanics the same so they can monetize the game further without adding in some bullshit paid DLC.

As a Melty Blood player I think the game would greatly suffer from removing/combining moons.
You learn the difference within the first few weeks anyway, it's not THAT complex.
If the problem is the fuck huge cast caused by the moons, maybe you should rethink before releasing seven gorillion versions of the same damn character.

She has a sword and a revolver in the story mode so maybe she could have been a weapon change character similar to Elphelt but changed enough o be her own thing. More interesting idea was those centurion like servants she had. She could have been about calling them from off screen for extending combos.
It would have been neat if her style was a combination of Elphelt and Ram of sorts. Would have made sense story wise too.
