Are there any fun mods with with good item progression? the plain full plate gauntlets are the least offensive because they aren't bright gold or silver, but the gap between the hands and wrist attachment are still there and the hands don't line up on a lot of items like regular hands and gloves do going to use full plate when i can find one though, but i haven't found it yet

well if you wanna give it a go and it's good i'll include it in the submod might be able to replace the items in inventories too but caribbean is bitchy about that for some reason either way only variants should be black, silver, gold, and steel, though the black one doesn't match up too well maybe change the color on that silvery bit to the color correspondence of the set? ie for the black one make it gold, for the silver one make it red, for the gold one make it blue

Heavily modded Fallout 4 may ease that itch a bit. While janky focusing on the settlement system can basically turn it into a sim game. Hopefully Bannerlord will have similar in-game customization options.

ROTK9 and ROTK11 are good Kingdom focused (rather than officer focused) ROTK games.
ROTK9 is probably the best kingdom management KOEI game overall if the repetitive economic system doesn't kill the experience.
NA: Iron Triangle is my favorite KOEI empire sim from a gameplay standpoint however lack of PC port means that you pretty much have to learn Japanese or play it on PS2.
KOEI games can get a bit easy once you understand how to exploit the AI and have a stable power base, so I self-impose the limitation of delegating territories not immediately adjacent to the city my Warlord is located at.
Last time I checked in on Kenshi it was essentially pre-Alpha so I avoided it. Looks more complete now so perhaps I will give it a shot... Although going from the screenshots it seems that the only weapons anyone uses are swords???

And when it comes to ROTK11 vs ROTK13 -- I can't comment on it as I haven't played ROTK13. I am a bit wary since ROTK12 seemed stupidly streamlined and I have heard similar sentiments with ROTK13. I actually own ROTK13 on Steam but haven't felt motivated enough to play it yet.

There are crossbows/ballista but they are to big to carry. They are pretty much exclusively for defense. Once you get electricity and you have researched it you can upgrade to pneumatic harpoon launchers for the true Road Warrior experience.
In PIC RELATED you cam see that I was trying to go for a nice kill zone to cover my gate after I unlocked and was able to afford the resourced to build walls with platforms.
I haven't played it recently since I was signed up for the "experimental patches" and ended up with my save getting fucked. They have updated the "stable" release to include the new map zones but I'm sort of in-between computers so all I can really do is hang out on /mbg/ and shitpost atm.
