Why havent you made a homemade car yet Veeky Forums?

that body is terribad

Shitty welding skills, and I don't fuck with body work.

0/10

you can build a car but it looks like shit, so waste of time

>he can't afford an english wheel

Why haven't you worked with fiberglass instead of steel? It's lighter and easier to work with, and it'll give you a much better result than what you have right now.

>tfw I thought this was the back until I looked closely at the seats and wheel.

they make better car in africa and india.

I really want to build a homemade large Ariel Atom style go-kart car but I don't have 220 in my garage and my welding skills are sub-par.

>no ecoboost
And just when I thought this "car" couldn't get any worse.

The same reason I use Windows and not FOSS software.

I like it when it works

All wheel steering? The back wheels seem turned.

some sort of high rise Jeep louts 7 clone
is there any thing your going for with this ?
reminds me of a tractor in some ways and also some of the first cars with body work
I should be amazed that there is not a wooden frame underneath

>not wanting to own the hammerhead-i eagle thrust
Better and cheaper than a G-Wiz and it had a great chassis.

>it looks like shit
>so waste of time
you need to go off yourself normie faggot

chassis was too far above the perforce envelope of the motive power they chose
they could of strapped to bicycle frames together

what?

what he tried to say was that putting such a chassis in that bag of dicks in akin to putting the chassis inside a pedal car

I'd love to make one sometime. I really want to make a bunch of Kei cars and take them around a local karting track as a makeshift motorsport, that'd be great.

the engine they used would never get the car moving fast enough to make use of the chassis and suspension's intended optimum speed range
the engine was from a milk float and would well benefit from being loaded up or run at a better gear ratio

and as much as the lotus chassis is light for its strength that is wasted because they did not load it up with battery's or stress
in most ev applications worth mentioning the battery's are over half the total mass if not the volume of the vehicle

>the hammerhead-i eagle thrust
>bag of dicks
As if you wouldn't want your own hybrid TVR.

Hey, it was a cheap car, still better than a G-Wiz though.

scrap heap challenge although just as contrived at times presents many more interesting solutions than blatant satire

is this the user who made a chassis with bedframes and used a complete euro front suspension/crossmember setup as the base?

If so, great progress, cant wait to see it complete

Lack of space, time, tools, parts, skills, and money.

>tfw have the instructions to do so but no space, skill, room or money

>no space, skill, room or money
space, skill, TOOLS or money*, fuck

Yeah its the second version and only $100 has been put into it

...

I know half that feel
>have the space
>have probably 75% of the tools
>have probably 50% of the knowledge
>have probably 25% of the money

>have some space
>have no money
>have most of the general use and automotive tools
>have too much time
I want a fucking lotus 7/caterham so bad

Because trying to get it registered is next to impossible in central europe. This is something I definitely admire about merrica.

cuz itd probably look like that and Id rather walk than drive it

because you can never register it and drive it legally on the roads in the united states. nor get it insured
we can't either

>we can't either
Is it specific to certain states? A colleague of mine lives in Michigan and tells me you can pretty much register anything there and drive it.

they have to pass inspection and whatnot before you can get a title

so no you cant just register anything

Never thought about it desu

Would rather bodykit pre-existing cars

This cars made in montana and you can go pick up a street legal kit for like $50 at oreilleys

I would love to make a car body from bronze.
It would never have to be painted and it would never rust.
It would get a nice patina and last forever.

It'd be heavy as shit though.

I know this feel

My dad built a kit car with his dad because his dad was a part time mechanic and had worked for racing teams in the past, and they had the time, money and space to do it

My dad wants to build a kit car with me, but we don't have the space or the time to do it

Practice welding faggot.

yeah, but on something like a truck or a jeep it wouldnt matter as much.
Put a big reliable tanky engine in it, and it would be near immortal.

Would ride with you into Valhalla/10

or do it like Delorean did

>Aluminium frame designed by Lotus
>fiberglass body on top of that
>stainless steel/bronze body panels on the outside

forgot pick, that's the bit between the spaceframe and the exterior panels
