Better amenities for a lower price. Also extended manufacturer warranty. Got my bang for the buck at the end of the day. I love the ST (fiesta and focus), but they just didn't have one that quite fell into my parameters at the moment. I plan to upgrade to a Focus RS.

If you plan on keeping it "till the wheels fall off" lengths of time, then it's less of a thing. Hyundai/Kia owners always get a bit shocked over how awful these cars are at holding value, makes for heated exchanges when I have to talk to people about trade in values

I was looking for low maintenance fun and a mechanic buddy of mine told me from experience that he sees Hyundai's come in for major mechanical work the least. Could also be the demographic of drivers with the Hyundai's but he's been around the block long enough for me to take his word.

Yeah actually that's the plan. I've lived out on the west coast and a little while in the south. Circumstances brought me back to the city but I agree with you completely. Northeast is a pretty big shithole.

I live out in the outer boroughs so I have an opportunity to drive. I personally love driving, literally just moved out of Manhattan island to get a car again. NYC living. What would you do with a 'fast' car here? Shit roads, speed cams literally every other block now. Highways are the only place to go WOT, until you hit traffic a couple of blocks down. Don't need big power to for fun driving here. The fiesta st is a nice car, performs better too, but none for sale around me for the price i wanted, also shit interior in comparison. Also practicality is a pretty high priority at this juncture in my life.

But the more then put out quality vehicles the better they hold onto value.

In NYC its probably about a quarter of the year. Riding in the summer sucks dick, you'll swim in your own sweat just going down a mile. And if you're not dying from the weather, everything else is out to kill you. Potholes, debris on the road, old people, women, Asian drivers, taxi drivers etc.

In comparison to...? If you're referring to the ST's none of them fell in the price range for what I wanted and they were all far as fuck from where I live. If you wanna use the 3 g benchmark, I saved hella more than 3 g's over an ST for a better looking and feeling interior. And now that the ford focus RS is out, not gonna settle for an st. Might as well drive a shittier car for a little bit and get the RS in a year or two.
