Holy fuck, I just noticed that the throttle pedal is shifted towards the driver. That makes it an awesome heel-toe device.
Now I'm considering this car as well, damn

I test drove one and I have legitimate PTSD afterwords

It is the least comfortable car I've ever driven, the chassis feels like poorly stapled together plastic, the A/C has two modes: off, and blowing louder than everything else in the cabin. The seats gave me hemorrhoids. It did not feel safe to turn in. Literally 0 room for luggage or probably even groceries.

However, the boost guage looks cool, the exhaust sounds really nice, and its quick.

Pretty much every other hatchback produced these days has it's turboed racey variant. Civic, Fiesta, Focus, Golf, Clio to name a few. There's a lot to choose from.

The euro 1.4 T-Jet has multiair technology.
The only thing different is that the US spec engine already has the "essesse" kit installed as standard.

The T-Jet has no electrohydraulic valvetrain. It has a more traditional variable timing system.

Multair adds a set of solenoids to the intake valves that adjust valve lift directly. This system adds like 20 HP and requires a different head. The blocks are basically identical, though.

I gather then that the Essesse kit is just a factory tune?

Niece of mine has a 2013 model with 50k on it, heaps of troubles. Had to replace multiair(twinair) ecu recently which was about 1500 eu.

Honestly the second most fun car I've driven. Almost pulled the trigger on one before, and I'm looking at one again. It's the perfect modern hot hatch, does everything they need to do. Better than the FiST, which I've also driven. Has buckets more character than the Ford.
