Does the 1G-a Eclipse GSX count?

It doesn't develop crankwalk like the later models, and is extremely similar to an evo but is smaller and weighs 400 lbs less.

Also, flip-up headlights and horizontal tails both turn me on.

I've driven several DSMs, and owned a non-turbo one. I've also driven an Evo IX a while including 2 runs at a drag strip, and owned an STi for 6 years. You can always feel that extra metal back there from being a 4-door sedan.

The 1st-gen of the 1st-gen of DSMs have a pretty damned similar engine and AWD system to early Evos, just a shittier chassis and slightly weaker gears.

IV and V were the sexiest
