His character is pretty flawed, he's got the most fragile masculinity of the entire cast and he overcompensates for his insecurities by making a big show out of his pride and refusing to communicate what he emotionally felt (which he thinks is a weakness). Ironically he's probably one of the most emotional members of the cast.

This is in part due to the circumstances which were laid upon him, essentially being a mob boss in Chapter 3, and being the Lord in the Final Chapter. It's probably the biggest reason why he only communicated with Maria in the 3rd door, because she was a friend before he donned the facade and she had insights into who he really was. In other words, she was really the only one he felt secure with. When he had fallen in love with the WHG, he was already bearing that facade and never really opened up the 'real Jacopo' to her until it was far too late. Keep in mind that from his perspective, the woman he was deeply in love with was very possibly cheating on him with multiple men. Remember that he had thought this had been going on for awhile before the events of Door 3.

It's why he's an interesting character. Good deep down, but largely corrupted due to his own circumstances and the way he handled them.

Jacopo supposedly loved the white haired girl but treated her like shit, it was so bad even the maids started treating her bad too.

Morgana ensured that her curse would cause his permanent solitude and that his only company would be wealth and power. Everything wrong with Jacopo in Morgana's backstory is turned up to 11 in Door 3 because he's under the effect of the curse.

Jacopo thought that the WHG would never fall in love with him--not only due to his severe insecurities--but because despite having fallen in love with her, they had only known each other for an extremely limited amount of time. Thus, when she attended to him and his business partners (egged on constantly by Maria), Jacopo misinterpreted it as flirting with them, and, due to his own insecurities, this led to the logical conclusion of getting upset with her. This apparently happened numerous times (in spite of Jacopo telling her to stay away from their meeting room) Taking not only all of this into account, but the the fact that his marriage to the WHG in Door 3 is basically a symbol of his own power (remember that it was an arranged marriage and she was from a noble family), then it's obvious that Jacopo would get upset with her when he had the slightest thought that something fishy was going on.
