Here's a HGA Technical Readout Manual tool just made available for checking out and editing the armor values for Gears so that server hosts can effectively create house rules on their own servers. can someone recommend me a good build for the Highlander IIC B? it has only 1 ballistic and 2 energy but 4 missile pods with 20 tubes each. this is what i have reduced myself to do in it even tho i hate lurming:
i dont really see any other alternative, since it has 1 ballistic slot and the CUAC20 is unreliable garbage, the LB-20X fits but its a meme weapon and i dont like gauss unless i can mount at least 2 of them. i really dont know what else to do with this variant.

18 heatsinks are enough to cool off 2 CERPPC, and 1 gauss, look at the cooling efficiency in case you havent seen it, and i dont have any other ballistic nor energy hardpoints to fill, so if i dont intend to use the missile pods what am i gonna use the tonnage on? 7 more heatsinks would be overkill. 35% projectile speed from TCOMP 7 is much more useful to reliably hit at max range with it.
and, my dear uneducated illiterate friend, the TCOMP doesnt matter how big it is, or where you put it, because even when it is destroyed you dont lose your bonuses from it. it tells you it got destroyed but thats it. the way PGI has coded them cant have a mech lose the bonuses from TCOMP even when its critted out.

Jumpjets on a huelander are a waste. Assault jets are shit in general, and the huelander has nerfed ones on top of that. Just use it for more firepower and heatsinks.

at 200 or less meters LB20X is accurate enough to hit just one component in an enemy assault sized mech before he torsotwists and has an extra chance to crit out internals after i opened the armor with SRMs.
meanwhile your shitty CUAC20 firest a volley of slower bullets that when playing against anyone that is higher than a tier 3 shitter more than half that damage will be torsotwisted and spread away. and if that wasnt enough, it jams pretty much everytime you try to use its only redeeming quality, the doule tap, making the weapon completely worthless for 7 or so seconds.
but then again, i dont think you get matched against competent pilots who even know what torsotwisting or spreading damage it, let alone knowing how to counter a brawl build.

Looks like this tool was used during the Play with the Devs session this evening by setting up an Instagib server with the Gears having 1 point of armor in each location. So effectively if players want the ability to determine their own idea of gameplay balance rather than use the official servers balance settings, they can do so.
