Not him put personally, as long as you write Chara as a flawed person and convey it well in the story and as a character, I am fine with a lot of interpretations of Chara. Maybe it is just where I have been around for a long time though, come to appreciate a lot of things.

I don't mind that part, exactly. There's definitely a canon element of emotional dependency from Asriel to Chara, and even CN sort of wrote it as being reciprocated even if Chara was just too warped to understand it properly.

It's when other writers are constantly going on long internal monologues about how beautiful and holy they look to each other while having them constantly touch and kiss that skeeves me, I saw enough of it to give up on the "lengthy undercapitalized title with tons of Mental Abuse Tags" kind of fics altogether.

There's a point where prose is appropriate but when you just dye everything purple it's not really good.

Also not uncommonly you'll come across people with actual mental issues projecting onto Char and/or Frisk, especially if they have gender issues
