It's not a great place to start, but it's a pretty irrelevant game overall so it's not a big deal

I wish Takaki made a stat-heavy Senran dungeon crawl with a menu battle system.

If you're following to plot you should try to find all the festival platforms and destroy them in every level.

Remember to explore the levels a lot. You can use wall running to get pretty much anywhere and the magic walls are more like "suggestions" as to where you "shouldn't" go during a fight. Most levels are actually fully explorable even if a mission doesn't actually take you all over it, and secrets are hidden all over.

Also if you see something interesting that stands out from the rest of the level try to defeat other characters near them. Most of the time you can get a special finisher from beating girls near them.

Other than that you can pretty much stay blind on the game. EV isn't a great place to start for the series but it's still pretty enjoyable. If you get the chance you should check out the other games. SV is on PC and both the DS games are really good

Estival, being the most recent game, isn't the best start for getting the story, but you can should still be able to follow it well.
Enemies may give you a hard time later in the game.
There's a burst mechanic for whenever you want to break out of attacks
The "Normal" difficulty the game defaults on is actually the easy setting.

easy is normal, normal is hard and hard is extreme

I don't know why the hell xseed decided to do that. If it's your first time playing play on "easy".
These games are level up-based and you'll get fucking trounced by the AIs if you try to play on harder difficulties using underleveled characters.

EV is certainly the game for lewd stuff so you're in the right place.

Hopefully you'll enjoy what little story EV has to offer though, I thought it was nice.
