I don't have ultimate maxx c(but i have the prettiest german ultimate veilers!) but even if my deck doesn't run some of the hand traps currently in meta it's always a good idea to put up good cards early even if the meta in the TCG atm. I always try to stack up on hate/floodgate side cards for the same reason too and we have the OCG as a foresight so we can somewhat guess where are meta is going. Waiting until the final moments when the hype reaches the TCG to buy cards is suicide.
