How do you check a farm's current state? Fertilizer, water level, etc. Someone placed their farm right on top of mine and I can't seem to check it now.

The farms are instanced, all others should disappear when you enter yours

I've got this quest to tame a wild horse. I've got plenty of the taming ropes and the lumps of sugar. I equip the rope and I'm given the prompt to throw it at a horse whenever there's one nearby but when i go to do it nothing happens, what the fuck?

Make sure you have the horse targeted with the red reticle over it.

Are you pressing anything after you throw the rope?

I use the rope and it prompts me to use the left click to lasso the horse, but when i try that nothing happens.

Walk up to the horse a few times without having the rope prepared to get a good feel of how close you can be before it runs away. If you try to lasso too closely you run the risk of failing entirely.

I actually intend on doing that I think, unless something else changes my mind.

Someone just told me to stop upgrading nodes at level 9 and level 10 is bugged and actually drops less loot. Is that true?

I hate how RNG leads people to just instantly assume that their experience is everyone else's experience.

I see people constantly saying that they nerfed drop rates of certain items because they don't get as many as they got yesterday. One guy in guild chat yesterday said that with the last patch they upped blackstone rates because he got 2 in the space of a few minutes.

Not at all. It can be fun but it's not worth taking seriously.

Yes, though a lot of the crafting won't be done by you. It'll be done by workers you hire in cities and you provide the materials for them. I like this though because it lets you get on with other things while having multiple projects on the go.

There is and I think it's passable but it's really not told very well, at least not until you get into Mediah and Valencia.

If you want to try it and you don't want to drop the money you can ask around for a 7 day code if you want to see for yourself or just drop the $10.
