The only thing that brakes on them is related to the doors. I drive a 20 year old base model one, that has been abused, taken off road, not maintained, driving like nobody gave a shit about it for most of it's life. It's mechanically fine, except for everything to do with the doors, they are too heavy and wear out their mountings so that they need slamming to close, the window mechanism breaks and makes the windows fall through if you try to open it due to pure flimsiness, the locks jam up and become hard to use, the door trims fall off easily, and won't stay in despite thick adhesive and 5 screws that I had to put in, and the insulation in the hatch and doors either falls out or disintegrates upon tough.

But there are no other issues, the engine runs like new after 300000kms, the clutch has is poorly connected so it's heavy and hard to use, the gearbox needs gentle treatment otherwise you lose power and the propshaft shudders, they have fuck all power from SOHC economy engines shamed by a corolla.

It is the ultimate poorfag badge whores car, looks like a bmw, but one that can be afforded by the cuck who doesn't have enough for a coupe or sedan is going to be base model shit, and is underpowered for what it should be. There should have been at least a DOHC 1.8 as standard, if not a straight six. I bet you could have got a cheaper commodore with more power and luxuries for the same price.
