How fares your empire, /gsg/?
This day in history, September 26th: 46 BC – Julius Caesar dedicates a temple to his mythical ancestor Venus Genetrix in accordance with a vow he made at the Battle of Pharsalus. 1371 – Serbian–Turkish wars: The forces of the Ottoman sultan Murad I's lieutenant Lala Şahin Pasha and the Serbian army under the command of Vukašin Mrnjavčević and Jovan Uglješa clash at the Battle of Maritsa. 1687 – The Parthenon in Athens is partially destroyed by an explosion caused by the bombing from Venetian forces led by Morosini who are besieging the Ottoman Turks stationed in Athens.
Actually even if you used SED shit will still bein localized names The castle in Jerusalem is called "tour de david" for ffs, that's french

Is Stellaris actually fun? I played it for an hour and it was boring as shit.
Thomas Miller
MODS!

r8 updated autism
Daniel Taylor
No it isn't, it's shit. Play DW.
Noah Brooks
it's boring and bad and simple, play it once then uninstall, better yet don't play it at all in the late game you can't lose, but you can only conquer a few planets at a time, there's no diplomacy system to speak of so you will always be conquering planets rather than partaking in intrigue, and minerals and energy credits are optional in the late game since you can play with zero of both and still win wars and thrive
Kevin Parker
It's really dull. It's like EUIV without any kind of history behind it or alt-history things to do. It's just blob. Everyone has the same events. Same exact thing happens every game it's just the names of the blobs are different. You're better off playing Galactic Civ 2 or Distant Worlds or something.
Blake Morales
What I'm looking at here?
Noah Stewart
Will it make stellaris a better game than DW?
Ian Clark
This.

Call me when Stellaris is better than GalCiv2 which came out like 6 goddamn years ago and IS self admitted 4x
Colton Ortiz
Why did they ever think the game was a good idea?
Josiah Barnes
Source for Ireland being overpopulated?
Julian Hall
So a meme that isn't even related to video games?
Bentley Thomas
>no greater israel
Dylan Sanchez
now this is a kc tier post
Camden Williams
Why do you think people were so fucking unemployed, poor and leaving the country?
Bentley Torres
Paradox is not staffed by people who play GS. It's just EA lite. >gotta make those shekels >gotta release those half made games then use DLC to fix it Dumb millennials eat that shit up since it's all they've ever known.
>Migrants left their homes for a variety of reasons – overpopulation prompted some residents to move elsewhere in search of land and employment
Not even him, didn't you study history in school?
Luis Robinson
probably the fact that they had more people pre-potato famine than they do today
Parker Green
The market is full of space 4x games, I guess they wanted a share.
Parker Butler
Because of the Penal Laws, abseentee landlordism and the lack of investment and industrialisation due to London not caring about Ireland.
Hudson Cook
What's up with the fad of space 4x anyway? People will get burned and the developers will start crying no one's interested in it anymore.
William Anderson
the corn laws were a thing as well
the potato blight didn't just hit ireland, it hit the entire continent yet only ireland suffered this heavily
Gavin Taylor
Look it's a common known fact that ireland had an ovepropulation crisis.
David Myers
>play hoi3 >BBs and DDs >if the fleet is not up to date then it is disorganized to hell by enemy carriers >can sink ships if it's up to date >but have no glorious carriers
>CVs and CLs >disorganize the shit out of enemy fleets and leave them half-broken >but don't really sink anything
Is 1 CV, 2 BBs, 3 CLs, and 6 DDs the greatest fleet composition ever?
Yes, it is.
Dominic King
DDs are only good for taking down submarines.
Carter Hughes
>it hit the entire continent yet only ireland suffered this heavily That was because the penal laws left Catholics in poverty forced them to divide their lands and because the British exported food from Ireland during the Famine while independent countries could just cease exporting to food in order to feed their people.
Ian Sanchez
No it's because the place was so full of people they didn't even have any land to farm.
Carson Lewis
Because the penal laws forced Catholics to divide their lands between their sons and left them with land that was only big enough to farm potatoes.
Parker Wright
but brudder, all BBs should be accompanied by their DD lil bros! They raise the average speed of the fleet so I do think they are a bit useful.
Connor Campbell
No, because it was full of people.
Nicholas Nguyen
>the brits dindu nuffin
just fuck off, stop posting excerpts and post the source you're getting them from
it's really fucking mind boggling someone would deny british responsibility in the great famine
Justin Martin
Forgot pic
I didn't say they didn't do nothing, I said Ireland was overpopulated and that was one of its big problems.
Literally no one denied the brits did shit you dumbfuck, quote the point where annoyed did it.

Capitalism and imperialism were to blame, don't make it about nation and race

>quote the point where annoyed did it. Meant "quote the post where anyone did it" Fucking auto correct.
The population of Ireland in that screenshot is 12 million people though, if anything the modifiers should be bigger.
Colton Phillips
How about not using slow ships?
Jaxson Butler
>in 1926 the population was less than 3 million In the Republic of Ireland, read the link you just posted properly.
>if anything the modifiers should be bigger Because an independent Ireland controlled by its own people and not by absentee landlords and Westminster wouldn't be different? Oh right, 'Britannia did nothing wrong'!!1!
Adrian Allen
>They raise the average speed of the fleet
How? Do they tow the big battleships of what?
John White
The island doesn't support that many people, the 19th century overpopulation and famine left that very clear.
The Irish famine doesn't show that Ireland can't support too many people any more than the Holodomor shows that Ukraine can't support too many people. The severity of the famine was a result of the Penal Laws and the exporting of food by Britain.
Asher White

Hudson Richardson
The fact that with 7~8 million people there were no arable land left and people were starving left and right shows that.
William Edwards
wtf I love African military now
Hunter Thompson
How should I go about playing Canada in HPM? Should I release all 4 of the Canadian subcountries & grant them independence or just Canada itself? Which actions will lead to the events or decisions that let me claim the entire canada?
Gabriel Gutierrez
>that explosion in the end K E K E K
Thomas Lopez
it's at 703 now kek
Justin Jones
There are events but I'm not really sure, I think if you release everyone they eventually join you or petition to join you.
Jose Sanders
People were starving left and right because they were dependent on the potato and had nothing else to eat due to being poor tenant farmers and due to British export of food.
Easton Hughes
>mfw galciv2 is more complex than eu$ and hoi$
Daniel Wright
That also, but also because most people were employed in the field and since the field was overpopulated, they were unemployed and couldn't buy shit. It's not like there wasn't food in Ireland, people died left in right because they were poor, they were poor because they didn't have places to grow shit and agriculture was 99% of the economy. They didn't have place to grow shit because the place was overpopulated. So the RGOs for ireland should reflect that.
Henry Edwards
When I release them should I also use the 'release vassals' decision to remove them from being substates of the UK?
James Cooper
I guess, just in case.
Connor Edwards
enclosures already reduces rgo size
Carson Morgan
It will cost UK 10 prestige each vassal you release I think.
Jaxson King
It should reduce further because at 8-7 million it was already full.
Ryder Peterson
My word, it's almost as if situations can be contributed to by multiple factors!
Eli Diaz
>what is industrialisation An Irish government would've invested and industrialed in its people, this is just railroading. There are countries smaller than Ireland with a higher population and they don't seem to be having overpopulation problems.
Colton Bennett
RGO has shit all to do with industrialization. We are talking about the maximum size of agriculture.
Charles Parker
Which is heavily influenced by agricultural technique - a huge part of the issue was the style of cultivation, was it not? Why wouldn't an independent Ireland have an Agricultural Revolution?
