That's more of a question you should ask in the GBAtemp thread tat was posted. There's likely a way to keep your save file over but you'd have to delete the game because the english patch is only available in the Chinese version.

This game is nowhere near as good as most of the modern ones. I don't even think it was as good as some of the games that were older. Thank you, that actually means a lot to us. We really tried to learn this game, and ultimately I feel like there was still a ton of shit we didn't understand. We really expected to just brute force our way through it, so it's nice to hear someone at least thank us for not doing so.
