Du findest höchstens in touristischen Ecken der Niederlande ein paar Spielhallen mit alten Lightgun- oder Rennspielen wenn du Glück hast.
Renesse auf Schouwen-Duiveland hatte eine ziemlich große Spielhalle, aber das ist nun auch schon Jahre her. Keine Ahnung ob es die noch gibt.

Ich bin jetzt in Frankfurt und es ärgert mich, dass jede Spielhalle oder was auch immer eigentlich ein Casino ist. Was zum Teufel.

In Köln baut aktuell jemand was in Richtung "invite only" Arcade* auf; habe da neulich etwas auf der Farm von gelesen. Ansonsten ist es mit so richtigen Arcades hier in DE sehr rar bis nicht existierend.

Ausserdem ist Köln eh knapp 300km weg von mir, daher: meh.

I haven't really played a shmup since hiring Xevious for the NES over a weekend when I was a kid.
Where should I start for getting into the genre?
I have a TE2 stick if that matters.

The only one I've heard of in the UK is in Manchester, so chances are I'd be dodging real bullets as well

Gradius, R-Type, Raiden are good traditional style shmups

Dodonpachi, Battle Garegga, Mushihimesama, Eschatos and Deathsmiles are good modern, bullet hell style shmups

Kafka is great, I actually have a vintage edition here printed in German blackletter. The problem is, these days it's been a choice between reading Kafka (I need a dictionary for that) and playing shmups, and nearly every time I choose the god damn shmups. I'm trying to learn stick.

Maybe to get some general strategy ideas, but you're not going to be able to pull off the superplay tricks if you can't beat stage 3

i see, yea i meant mainly for a general idea of what i should be trying to do/good ways to clear sections. also forgot to mention i even had to practice a bunch just to all clear novice ;_; but it's fun improving, feels good
