gw2 is waste of a great engine.

Everyone already suspected them to be the meme race, this only confirms it.

It's like this is your first time seeing players get their hands on a character creator user. For every game, every race, every role, there will be a million people who either think they're funny, cute, or just have atrocious fashion sense making whatever they've chosen to be look bad.

Humanity's supposed to be a race on the brink, fallen from prestige and grace trying desperately to hold on, but I see more RP tea parties and faggots swaddled in scarves big enough to choke a Mordy himself than I can count.

But the Asura are the short obnoxious meme race, they're like Gnomes in WoW or the Chua in Wildstar. Then the Sylvari are all a bunch of gay plant people which leaves like two races which are human and big human and that is pretty limiting. Why does this game need to have so many meme races?

You know, (my/our) mind is really fucked up.
I've been playing GW2 for a long time and getting more and more impatient and intolerant with it, always noticing some annoying/bad design stuff, thinking how better it could be.

Then I decided to give WoW a try again since people are saying Legion is actually good, and it was hard... to enjoy it.
Target-system, mostly single-target, tedious and repetitive quests, and during combat you don't fight the enemy, you mostly fight yourself to achieve the perfect/maximum efficiency.
This made me remember the many good things GW2 did.
(It's still unfortunate it could be much better with better designers)

That aside, I'm thinking in buying GW1 and playing the campaigns for lore interest and the titles/achievs/items I'd get on GW2, but reading people say that ANet doesn't do lore very well made me rethink it.

Guys, which Gizmo gives the most gold (in raw mats) from Ascended crafting materials (i.e. Dragonite Ore etc)? Like, is it better to dump most ore to 'Princess' (which consumes 50 ore) or better to share it between those two that require 25 ore+25 different resource?
I have too many of these mats, I've separated 1.5k for future ascended gear and have no use for extras. I'm farming around 100-150 of each daily, sometimes even 300+.

The lore is good in both games but the storylines are super cheesy with awful dialogues (even more so in GW1). The best part of both games is the world you play in, not your story.

it didnt aged well on some aspects. But the combat system allowed for the most diverse and creative fights ive ever witnessed in any game. But he has a point. Lorewise its okay, but the story is more often then not just awful.

Dude. Buy precursors. You'll get roughly 5.7k gold.

Instead of throwing money to get the legendary, get the precursors you want. You could, like, get all the precursors a necro can use.

Then, grind fractals for more moolah to make them into legendaries.

You misunderstand "engine" with infrastructure. The technology patented by ArenaNet that allows them to utilize "megaservers" and no scheduled maintenance (outside of very few times) is not the same thing that runs the game you dolt.
GW2's game engine is antiquated and struggling to provide reasonable performance for what it does. It's poorly optimized for today's hardware, not making use of multicore CPUs, GPU hardware acceleration, or even just something like drawing shadows on the GPU instead of the CPU.

For anyone farming emberbay, I highly recommend getting the Karmic Retribution? (I think thats what its called)
The discription makes it sound simply like a Karma booster, but thats not even close to what it does.
With the boost, every kill you get has a chance to netting you a karma consumable (drop/thimble/sip)
Each of the three tiers is unlocked with each tier of Karmic Retribution, and as a bonus, greatly increases the chance of finding the previous tiers drop rate!
ie: have tier one nets you drops rarely, but having all three nets you drops quite frequently, thimbles uncommonly, and sips rarely.
Doing a heart or two netted me about 9 drops and 4 thimbles.

Also incase people where also unaware, most karma traders on the island (not all) will sell 3 wood for about 2.6k karma, which can be done once per merchant- per day- per charater.

It's literally the race's theme, user. Go watch the human intro again, then take a look at your average human player.

It really doesn't line up, much in the same way you see a lot of bowie-haired or tiara-wearing charr, asura that a neon messes, and norn who are some variation of "incredible hulk" or yet another futa.

Come to think of it, why are slyvari seemingly the least egregious about this? Do salads care more, impossible to tell from humans at a glance, or does being so bland just make it unnoticable? The world may never know.

This is basically all conjecture, but I'm fairly certain that the state of gw2 norn is the resultof their lore nerf to pc status without any sort of consolation. Asura always had a physical weakness to off-set their magical prowess; charr delved into industrial technology to denote some sort of cultural progression to help counter their 1D powerful villain status in gw1. Norn were always demigods, and now they're just not. Nothing changed. They are little more than a template. No wonder we have all these jokes and futa. The players filled the void for anet, and norn lore had nothing to stem that tide. Futanorn are anet's fault. But futanorn are still treasures.
