We had fuckall for medkits and those would be gone quickly, if you were lucky to have a chemist that actually made medicine you might be able to get some bicard and kelo out. Basically no one came in that wasn't in crit anyway so you just threw anyone that wasn't running around like a mommi on crack into the cryo and sent them on their way.

it was funny, back when we used Veeky Forums medicine everything was so fucking simple that no one gave enough of a fuck to even try and do better. If the roboticist put a medbot in the lobby the entire department sans geneticist could just fuck off for the day.

Yeah originally it was on the mob but people decided to change it to be on the reagent so you could undo the effects.

Knowing off the top of your head what you need to know about pills, cryo, and surgery really isn't difficult, no. The issues I and I think a lot of other people have with medbay are the people you need to deal with and the clunkyness of certain mechanics. I really just wanna help people, but when they refuse basic cooperation like being put into the sleeper or going to sleep in surgery (both of which happened semi-recently), it just gets irritating.
That said, I think people often exaggerate how bad it is. I think that most of the time, and especially if you've prepared properly and the ride intensity hits that sweet spot, it can be really fun and rewarding
