So I updated to Beta 1.1, and you were partially right. Most of the graphical changes remained. However, it seems that a few things were lost, such as the changed dialogue for the female version of the bachelors, as well as the anime portraits for Emily (though I guess this is because she's a new marriage option now).
A lot of stuff got lost, but I think SMAPI just needs to update and it should be fine.

Was playing the beta for the past 2 days. The story seems kinda boring but this is pretty early into it. The overall gameplay is pretty fun, especially with another person but a lot of shit is confusing and unexplained like character customization.

Well, here goes nothing:
The game is called 'Museum'. The premise is simple: The main character, Carae... an incarnation of human greed, finds himself in the Museum...a peculiar place where various entities are collected here. Most of these collectibles are some physical manifestation of various emotions and others like fate, mercy, jealousy...etc. Those who are not incarnated have better status in this Museum like actual creatures.
Carae's mysterious arrival to the Museum has chain started a series of events which would lead to the utter destruction of the Museum. From our hub world, The ticket, Carae would venture into various territories of the Museum meeting new friends and enemies who would aid and harm him along the path.
The Museum would slowly crumble alongside progress. Carae and his would be allies would finally encounter the one who created this Museum, the god of the museum. This so called collector has been already dead, rotting in the chamber. the story would end with the ultimate destruction of everything into nothingness.
The main theme i am aiming for is the inevitability of death. All of us are but mere guests in our world. Eventually we will die no matter how many walls we erect, how many medical advancement we achieve. In the end, we must accept our end as we accepted our beginning.
Many inhabitants of the Museum will seek various ways to live for another day or to reverse the ongoing destruction. All will fail. Sometimes we have to simply let go. If anything, the game is made for those with existential crisis. I want them to accept their fate and live their lives the way they want it... that is my message.

The game will use RPG game maker, you the know, the usual turn based actions, saves at certain points...etc.
The Ticket will serve as the major hub world, i intended to implement 4 more mini hubs if possible.

Interesting, decent combat balance (compared to other RPG entries here), if you've played other surreal games, you'll find it on the weaker end, as far as that goes.

As far as gameplay goes... You should find ways to stray from "straight RPG". Which can be hard with RPG maker. Be sure to use/make scripts to break out of the limitations of RPG maker. Some of them are pretty heinous.

I also have an idea that has been lurking me. I want to make /mu/ into a videogame where a young /r9k/like lad has to travel to a presidents house, so that he can share his 60yo delusional dad's mixtape. Bosses would be people similar to Aphex Twin, David Byrne, Iggy Pop or Death Grips "Fuck who's watching" The Systems would be like (whatever I don't think I'll ever do it anyway so ill spoil it) an rpg where the turns are limited by 10 seconds. The attack part would be like The First Funky Fighter. The defense part (enemy turns) would be like Guitar Hero, If you have to avoid the notes. Obviously If this ever happens to exist it should be freeware, samples and using tracks w/o permissions would be bad. And its promotion would have been an ARG.
But everyone has an idea. Thing is doing it.
