Does infusing armor increase the Intellect/Discipline/Strength of it?

If so, what's the best way to do it? Get a low-light piece of gear and infuse it with a higher light piece?

it will increase the stats, but every piece comes with a stat cap that it will never raise above. there are pieces with higher rolls that you can get, but the roll on armor is random when it drops.

infusing a lower light item with a higher light one will raise the stats a bit but only to a point. you're only infusing the light value, not the stats.
