Shooter's a new ability set focusing on ranged attacks (and themed less around guns per se than Machinist, though the distinction's kind of silly) that gets introduced in the Yuna Wedding Dress wardrobe event.
It starts with 2 abilities: 4* Aqua Burst is 1x150 AOE physical water damage, raises to 1x170 if a ranged weapon is equipped. 5* Sapphire Shot is 2x165 single target physical water damage, raises to 2x185 if a ranged weapon is equipped.
At the time of release, the Shooter units are: 4* Shooter units: Edge Shadow Yuffie Rikku Hunter (Core) Ninja (Core)
5* Shooter units: Wol Firion Maria Refia Rosa Faris Vincent Irvine Amarant Tidus Wakka Jecht Fran Serah Tyro
New users like Fujin and Rufus get added, but afaik there's still no more Shooter abilities.

Because Bahamut gives more burst and more overall damage as long as you don't use all your ability uses before the fight is over. For aoe fights, I use R3 Bahamut and R5 Maduin or Valefor on my summoner. Why would I not want the extra damage Bahamut offers if I always have Maduin to fall back on?

Exploration only gives like 35-40 shards but also a metric fuck load of magicite ELT gives 100, but it's almost faster to do the exploration unless you've got like 4 CoD, a Lenna, and a friend CoD. I'd say the PRO is the most efficient, honestly.
