Could coach builders make a comeback, post 2000?

i want to believe

I don't think saudi princes or the children of high-ranking ccp members care all that much about custom bodywork.

I never really gained any interest for kit cars or coach built cars. They usually are expensive for the performance and options they can offer. Kit cars such as Shelby cobras can be built to perform better than the original but yet don't have any of the legendary history.

There was some law passed on replica cars that up tp like 250 a year can now be made by one manufacturer, don't have to pass safety standards but has to for emissions.

there is. this is literally a coachbuilt car.

it used to be a Enzo
then it had this body on it.
and what an ugly exhaust
its owned by that guy, i cant spell his name
gikenhouse?

...

so you can get a coach built car
given enough money

glickenhaus

nope never could spell that.

>Glickenhaus' collection of rare automobiles includes:

1932 Duesenberg J446
1932 Stutz DV-32
1947 Ferrari 159 S Spyder Corsa (chassis 002)
1957 Chevy Convertible
1967 Ford Mark IV J6
1967 Lola T70 Sl 71-32
1967 Ferrari Dino Competizione
1967 Ferrari P3/4 (chassis 0846)
1967 Ferrari 412 P (chassis 0854)
1967 Baja Boot ex Steve McQueen
1970 Ferrari 512 S Modulo by Pininfarina[1]
1972 Fiat Dino 2400 Spider
1988 Ferrari 208 GTB Turbo
2006 Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina
2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
2011 P4/5 Competizione
2012 P4/5 Competizione M Hybrid
2015 Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003S
2015 Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003C

god damn that is an ugly ferrari

No safety regulations would stifle creativity. Thats why my most modern day sedans all look like bloated fish.

well they let him design it himself basically.
but its not like the enzo was better looking.

he styled it after this car
so its "retro"

...

Ferraris always look great when they let customers design them

why is TRUMP on the trailer?

...

Coach building (as a trade) still exists in the bus and coach industry. And if you park a coach built car (like my boss' Morgan Aero) next to a coach built bus you'll see a lot of similarities in the way they are held together and quite quickly realize that coachbuilders are all dick heads and hate mechanics so try and make shit as difficult as they can

Not built by Alfa themselves.

Build trucks. Pretty much all commercial trucks are 'custom'. Manufacturer builds cab and chassis. Aftermarket body and attachments added later. No standards that I can see. Hose reels, winches, equipment racks, etc. welded to front bumpers (often extended) pretty much with no pedestrian safety in mind.

How does all this differ from custom car coaches?

The sultan of Brunei?

Btw how do I become a sultan? What schooling is involved?

Isn't that the point of this thread? lol
