MBTex lasts forever. The car will never leave you stranded.
The problems that arise are usually minor and easy to fix.
Working on 80's Mercedes is not very intuitive like most cars, but it is highly rewarding.
Luckily everything is documented on the web if you want to fix yourself.
The three worst problems you could encounter are the dead heater blower, a leak in the vacuum lines, and a broken Hirschmann antenna.

The thing about the W126 is that it was in production for like 12 years due to its popularity. So a 1991 model would be almost exactly the same (only it would have newer headlights, airbags, and a couple other things). Would you consider a 1991 car too old to daily drive?
