tl;dr - Camaro faster in a straight line because it's lighter, but Mustang is faster in the corners. The Mustang tires are shit too, at least for the US market. I don't know if they use something other than the P-zero's in Yurop.

If you want to go fast in a straight line and not be able to see out of the car, get the Camaro.

If you want to go fast in corners and feel more comfy, get the Mustang.

The mustang ecoboost was barely faster around the track because it had the suspension, brakes, and tires from the mustang GT.

Motor Trend threw the tires from the camaro SS on the 2.0t and it was much faster than the ecoboost

Didn't know that, I only saw the article in the magazine that I linked above. In that case, the Camaro would be faster in all regards, just have to get new tires.

I still maintain the P-zero's are shit, even the summer versions they put on the performance pack Mustangs. But I suppose it doesn't matter. I'm sure if you had the same tires on both cars the Camaro would outperform the Mustang.
