"and then he said his redline is 6500RPM"
Why would my Corolla need anything more lol
So? It's a fucking Saturn. It doesn't need over 9000 rpms.
But it likes 800rpm :(
The laughing girls are soooo July 2016....

Hi basement dweller lvl 30.
then I got scared because everyone knows that you only need 3000 rpm
Bump
Mine is at 3100
>Mfw I stroked a 4 banger and changed the cam which lowered the redline to 5300k
It feels great to have 90‰ of peak torque at 1900rpmto to 5100rpm.
Take your Rev to the sky Bullshit elsewhere
I'm pretty its either 6500 or 6800

How did this lower the redline? Do the cams have a higher rise and therefore stress the valve springs more?
The ability to rev high relies entirely on the crankshaft's ability to rotate quickly. The longer the stroke, the longer it takes to rotate, which keeps it from revving high.
It's not changing the cam that lowered his redline. Changing the cam took advantage of it. It was stroking it with a crankshaft with a longer stroke that lowered his redline.
Thanks for the info babe
my LQ4 only needs 6500
THIS IS THE 9K LINE

Just to add (stroker guy here) a red line can be limited by an aggressive camshaft if the valve springs cannot prevent valve float. That's when the valves close so fast with enough force that they bounce back open again.
So what the other user said still stands true, this additional info.
this is also generally a non issue for most motors.
>What the fuck ate you talking about?
well if the cam was milder it would reduce airflow and therefore revs
>he needs 10k rpm to reach 300hp
b18c1 8200 redline
takin it back a little
13k redline baby
Gixxerfag reporting in.
>yfw your red line is my cruising rpm
If an engine produces more power at the peak, why make it take longer to get there?
checkmate stupid revfag lmao
Because what's throttle response

larger range of power and allows for use of shorter gearing which means quicker acceleration :&)

His Corolla doesn't rev to12k rpm
>Laughing_girls.jpg
Valve float is when rocker action is moving so fast that spring tension doesn't have enough time to seat the valves before next cycle.
