I was talking about the kind of medieval fighting where we have armor. The sharpness point is kind of moot unless you have access to those Jomon curved swords capable of cutting steel plate. Subduing someone to give the killing blow with a dagger or bashing their head in with a mace is the way to go.

When fighting other opponents, especially in armour, it can quite often come down to wrestling, often using the weapon as a tool for that rather than striking. This goes for all weapons, but it goes double for armoured fighting when you have a sword or other cutting weapon (which is mostly useless against plate).

So shes been accused of various flavors of dishonesty for that period, and has made some untrue statements, so even there isn't an unusual amount of lying over that period, the charges stick.

Use dom inspector, it has armor and weapon tabs. Also keep in mind that most weapons don't include strength bonuses from unit stats. So if you see a spear with no listed damage, it just means it will do =strength amount of damage.

Do you mean it adds on the unit's base strength (ex. 10 str unit does 20 dmg) or that it doesn't add anything at all (ex. 10 str unit does 10 dmg with a spear's reach)?

That’s it. I’m sick of all this “Jomon curved sword” bullshit that’s going on in the dominions crunch right now. Katanas deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I’m talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Japan for 2,400,000 Yen (that’s about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my katana.
Japanese smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.
Katanas are thrice as sharp as European swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I’m pretty sure a katana could easily bisect a knight wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.

Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That’s right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their katanas of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the dominions system. Here is the stat block I propose for Katanas:

Katana - Damage 12, Attack +6, Defence +10, Length 2, Nbr of Attacks 5

Now that seems a lot more representative of the cutting power of Katanas in real life, don’t you think?
