After a little bit of saving and a small loan i managed to buy this beauty.
Year 2001, 1.8l engine, 120 hp.
Opinions?
Post your 1st car, bought with your own earned money, not dad's.
1st car
>small loan on a 1000€ car
if you find one for 1k in this state, i'll buy two, and give you one ok m8?
mk2 languna is called "Queen of the flatbeds" in Poland
850€ last year. Insurance valued it at double that. 1.8 125hp, crashed at least twice, once by me. No issues or broken parts whatsoever.
It took me a while but I managed to save 2k to buy a BMW E36 318. The guy who owned it bought it from the dealership he worked at since he liked it and then it was his DD for 2 years before he decided to sell it. All OEM parts used in any maintenance too which was a nice touch.
Naturally I crashed it just a few months later because first car, just got my license etc.
>naturally
It's not normal or natural to crash your first car, or any car. I've been driving for twenty years and not so much as scratched any of my cars. You're just a shit driver.
u wot m8? its a general rule to never get attached to your first car because it will get crashed
>Not everyone is a rich kid.
I assume OP is from Poland , Czech republic or some other eastern european country. Poor people can't afford too expensive cars. Besides my parents funded my driving licence but I had to borrow money from them to buy a car, after all "user, you don't need a car there is always a bus, and it only takes 1h longer to get where you want to get" mind you, I paid 1000€ for my first car and it was waay worse than OP's car. This happened in Finland.
You have a mint condition E36, a 1.8 babbymobile at that, and you wreck it...
What box of cornflakes did your license drop out of?
>It's not normal or natural to crash your first car, or any car. I've been driving for twenty years and not so much as scratched any of my cars. You're just a shit driver.
That's exactly what shit drivers say. 20 years of granny driving to local mall and church doesn't count.
No one in my family or any of my friends wrecked a first car, or any others after. They drive first cars til they break beyond repair, or upgrade when they get a good job.
Had a 1995 E36 328i Coupe.
Rear right trailing arm left the body while I was driving on the highway, not even hooning or doing anything stupid.
Just broke off, rusted piece of shit almost killed me.
Was pretty cool thinking back on it.
Bitch I started driving as a ricer in the 90s. Street racing and hooning were the only way to get somewhere. I'm just not retarded and know how to control a vehicle.
I don't know but if you are careful driver you don't crash your car. If you want to be cool you go on a racetrack to do extremes, also I don't trash my daily first car; for racing I buy some piece of shit Volvo install cage and have some sick fun.
Renault Laguna 2. Worst reliable car ever.
I bought a 2007 B6 Passat 1.6 FSI. Costed me 5700 euros, haggled it to 5400 euros, paid 4350 euros for it ( bought it on my firm ).
450 euros for enviroment tax, and another 300 euros for all the registration paperwork.
Grand total 5200 euros with all fluids changed
>first car
>had only just got his license
not everyone was a boring ass saint when they first got their license grandpa.
>FSI
You paid too much
Yeah, the plate says RO, which stands for Romania.
If you mean that you totaled it, you're a shit driver. I'm 21 (minimum driving age here is 18) and I crashed my car, too, but it was nothing serious.
Totaled? Shit no, I smashed in the front right quarter panel, front passanger door and bent the steering though.
But because of the low value of E36s and especially being a 318, my insurance company wrote it off rather than buying new panels and fixing the steering and I couldn't afford to do it myself. Buying another one was cheaper than fixing it for them.
>getting a loan to buy a can which loses value faster than a virgin on promnight.
Second hand prices are pretty crazy nowadays.. Got it atleast at 110.000 km, and the engine is bulletproof - so for my needs, it's going to run me smoothly for the next 3 years or so
What is it
...
I think you don't understand. We might be from different countries, but I'm only 23 y old, and 5k euros it's fuking huge for me. In a coupe of years you can bet i'll buy something @ 7-8k but now....2k will do for me.
92 k1500 Blazer
350 V8
Got it a year ago for $800 and I love it
still don't buy a fuckin laguna
It's too ureliable and overcomplicated for a poor-man's beater.
Will depreciate terribly. Maintance and service costs will kill you.
Decent-tier subcompact/compact>shit-tier/worn out middle class car
The truck isn't done yet, but it is close. Engine is at it's final place and brakes are all new, just need to be bled. Got the truck for free as we were cleaning up some place that called us to get their scrap.
Subaru wrx gf8. Sti swapped. Cost me 3k. Was dope, swapped it after a year for a c43 w202. Was 17 at the time.
...
>got a loan
>post a car with your own earned money
You first OP
5k plus taxes
Cars like this are rare in europe, i mean we have v8 clubs for people who own american cars, anyway i myself am a huge fan and dream of owning american car myself, so support and keep up guys!
Mine is a 1992 Škoda favorit 135L, bought in and paid with my work at a škoda service
1st owner, original km/miles, never crashed, garaged, basicly almost like new.
I owned a 2008 Mazda 6 for a few years. Miss that thing and only have one photo.
I forgot. I bought it for 3k with about 110k
Lol. Your first car?
Why would you spend 5k on a fucking Integra before you know how to drive.
integra's are considered ecoshitboxes in US, while in EU those are rare gems with high price
93 subaru wagon
500 American Dollaroos
The slapshift on that thing literally got me into cars. I sold mine for a Mazdaspeed6

DIAMOND OF DOOM!!!!
My first car was a 2009 base (1.4l I think) Mazda 3. Got tired of no power door locks or windows though and bought this bad boy. It's a shitbox, but it's so god damn reliable I love it. I want to drive it until I can afford an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio, but I'm not sure if I'll make enough to justify having that plus a mortgage. Cars that expensive just seem so retarded unless you make like 300 - 400k/year.
One of these but black.
Bought it from some dude for 1000€, he lost his license after DUI and didn't have money to pay the bills.
Was in extremely good condition, had 160k km on the clock and ran like a champ.
2.2 litre intercooled 5 speed manual too.
I swapped out the turbo for a ridiculously oversized one from a dump truck and, in my infinite wisdom, decided to plug the wastegate.
So basically I had a Chrysler that was running way over regular boost, probably around 2 bar or so with a dump truck turbo and no wastegate.
You can probably imagine the kind of havoc that thing caused when it wasn't busy being fucked 6 ways from sunday.
Drove it like that for a year till the turbo exploded, swapped the turbo for a less ridiculously oversized one and this time kept the wastegate operational.
Drove it for another 6 months till I got rear ended by a lorry who apparently had places to be and didn't bother stopping at a T junction stop sign, instead crashing right through my LeBaron and ramming it off the road into the nearest ditch.
Was the end of that little Chrysler.
I was quite depressed after losing my first car, went on for a few years with some random ass shitboxes till I found another GTC LeBaron Turbo, pic related, for mere 600 euro bucks.
>bought with your own money, not dads
>small loan (not your money)
Does not compute.
This is what's left of my first car. Bought it in California for $3800 with 45,000 on the odometer in 2005. 5spd Manuel and a fairly solid ride. After a little over 10 years of reliable service to me, I retired it and bought a new Fiesta ST to DD.
Since I live in San Diego, the only tracks we get are dirt so I set it up to be able to tackle light rally and rallyx. I absolutely fucking LOVE taking it up The Otay truck trails, it always pulls a crowd of gawkers who've never seen anything than old pre runners take the trail. I love my new FiST, but this old focus will always have a special place in my heart. I hope to keep it until I'm a frail old man.
The LeBaron is the official car of midwestern ghettos and trailer parks
This happened in Scandinavia though. I don't really know why I bought the LeBaron instead of a Volvo or a BMW like any sane European kid would, but I instead got a car that has zero fucking aftermarket over here and hunting parts even from the US is a chore.
Well because he will be paying the loan over time out of his pocket, not a family member's.
>crashed
>No issues or broken parts
Should have bought a Vulva, spürdo
>spürdo
He ain't german, it's Spurdö
>2k
>for a 20 something year old 4 banger shitbox
I`m not sure if you are dumber for buying it, or crashing it.
>All OEM parts
kek
spüöäõrdo
No no no, it's like this
>Spudrö spädre :DD t:sprölölö
You have to remember the emoticons at least.
>Finland
Some of the prices are pretty retarded. I remember seeing some old ass diesel W210s going for around 2k with about 500k on them. Like what the fuck?
High mileage means fuck all over here. Some people have a slight disdain for high mileage cars, but anything bellow 300k km is still practically brand new. After 300k it's just broken in.
A friend of mine bought a diesel Nissan Primera from Finland for 2k. It had about 500k on it. Needless to say, the engine shat itself. Mileage does in fact matter.
saved up and bought a 1992 Nissan D21 reg cab shortbox w/KA24E and 5-speed. Had many, many adventures with that truck. Took a lot of shit for having the tiniest pickup possible, but it got me through college and my first years of work. Drove the absolute fuck out of it 'till I could afford something nicer, then sold it to some kid for $800. No regrets, just good memories
>800 dollaridoos for a SUV
Fucking America. In Europe even a shitty, broken, 30 year old SUV costs twice as much.
He can call it his own once he actually pays it off. Till then, its the banks property
It does, but not for finns. A benz with 500k in is still brand new.
Shit, my old 740 Volvo had 785k on the clock, which had stopped and still ran strong for a few years filed with burnouts, drifting and hooning in general.
My current DD is a V8 BMW with 380k on the clock, my summer weekend cruiser, a V12 E32 BMW has 190k on the clock and my friday night hooning machine, the LeBaron has 300k on the clock. Only car I've ever had problems with was my MK4 TDI Golf with 80k on the clock, shat itself in just a few weeks of normal driving.
>rusted out W210
>still brand new
I want to believe
This coming from someone who drives a shitbox with 400k on it.
Not all of them are rusted out, despite that being one of their biggest issues.
See, some people take care of their cars, that's how classic cars survive to this day. I do have to admit though that it takes a special kind of person to bother and save a base model W210, but they exist too.
You're a fucking madman, you. I like you.
>that's how classic cars survive to this day
Living in a desert and locking your car in your base-...in a barn?
>buy '85 jeep XJ for $400
>still runs and gets tags
I fucking love these literal goddamn buckets
>2.5k
>no lowballers
>I know what I got
I don't see a problem with cars surviving for a long time as long as they're properly taken care of. Sure a V12 BMW is going to need a lot more care than a 2016 Toyota shitbox, but that's a price I'm willing to pay.
I live in Finland, in a place where they salt the roads the very moment they detect a single fucking snowflake hitting the ground in the fucking north pole and "prepare for the winter :)" with total global saturation by salt, making sure nothing survives. Can't have accidents on ice if there is no ice, roads, cars, life or anything except salt.
Fuckers would probably die from orgasms if they saw the fucking salt flats in the US
Stupid choice OP. Renaults might seem cheap (even when new) but they rape you on parts and are very unreliable. The interior feels like the cheapest shit ever (very cheap plastic everywhere). Should've bought an opel Astra g or h, Skoda Octavia or a golf.
My father-in-law has a Clio symbol from the same generation as yours, bought new and the car is simply disgusting. My now 20 year old Astra f is worlds better than that pos.
Also
>Sugi pula geani
A Focus is fine too.
kek my shitty honda 1.6 liter makes 127hp
Yeah, you're right. I forgot about fords because they're not my favourites. A focus or even a mondeo would've been perfectly fine and definitely much better than the renault
>yurotrash cars
amirite
My 2002 honda Accord
Only paid 3000$ CND
Has 210000km on it and the idle is a bit rough but Ive got A/C, Heated seats, And a sunroof and not a speck of rust.
not worth
You had to get a loan for a Laguna? They are pretty much free on the side if the road here, as they are a massively unreliable shitbox
Dunno about mechanical reliability, but they sure had some weird issues. My dad had 2 and both suffered from some weird problem that they outright refused to start after raining.
Had something to do with the starter solenoid not being enclosed completely and letting moisture inside .
The Laguna 2 is probably the most unreliable POS car and Renault's lowest point.
Please don't buy this turd.
Too bad, it looks kinda nice though.
A SaaB 9-5 -05 vector, The nevegation still works, so its kinda cool. Komfy to sit in as well.
I thought it was a Volvo.
>nevegation
You from New Zealand?
No I just suck at spelling.
I was just having a rib about the way that spelling sounds out loud.
£600
97k Miles
Full service history
12 months MOT
best money i ever spended :>)
But I don't want a tractor? Yeah, it had the bags changed in 11 but everything looks brand spanking new. Or looked until I crashed it, but these are 12 in a dozen in europe, so I got new parts for under 200€. Headlights were 130€ but I was going to change them anyway.
Not so fast blue disco nova
European? Those came with well over 2 litres in murica
'86 Integra.
Bought her for 1.2k USD, and invested ~600 bucks additional in minor fixes, but she's one of the cleanest cars I've run across in a while.
1500$
Poland
Congrats OP.

I miss that car and being a young single fellow.
