Pity the Britbong

Is mandatory car insurance not a thing in the U.S.? Here and on plebbit I see American high school kids buying convertibles, sedans and muscle cars as their first vehicles. As a youngish (22) driver in Bongistan, the insurance companies will rape you (£2-3k a year MINIMUM, more than the price of a used car) unless you buy a car in Thatcham groups 1-3 (Google it). This means you are forced to buy a shitty, boring, low power hatchback. Not even a Golf or Focus or Civic for you, have an Up! or a Ka or a Yaris.

ITT: Brit feels and our lack of automotive freedoms

You lie to the insurance company. Most American kids are "occasional drivers" of cars under their parent's names.

Most of us non-cucks don't bow down to our Jewish orverlords and fork out our hard earned government dollars for "mandatory" car insurance, instead we simply drive and follow the law so a cop would never pull us over asking for "license, registration, and proof of tribute to Mr. Noseberg please" oh wait they wouldn't say 'please' they would just have you at gunpoint.

Wait, is this in London or outside and further north?

London and the South of England more generally. I'm aware that premiums fluctuate by postcode (prob. of theft, vandalism) but not much that can be changed there

until a cop with a plate scanner pulls you over

OP here again, also what is the point of having a Motorway system with a limit of 70

>tfw will never scream down an empty highway at night going at 100mph

Pulls you over for what? The car is registered in your name, you have a license and you aren't black. Not all insurance companies report to the state so they can't pull you over if their botnet doesn't pull up your insurance from the plate.

From Pennsylvania drivers manual

It's time to move to Newcastle then

or you get rear-ended by a nearly-blind pensioner

>Commonwealth states

why is that m9

More north m8, probably better rates I reckon

Nobody drives "their own car", they are an "occasional driver" of their parent's new car.

Our cuckold dem governor is raising taxes on cigs, alcohol, and Vapes I think. At least our gun laws are ok

As a Virginian u feel your pain, sure the sales tax and income tax is pretty lax, but they fucking nickel and dime you to death especially for owning anything with an engine

>forst vehicle was a 1994 sonoma shitbox with 230,000 miles
>got it for $500

i hate them too nigel. i hate them too

>I DO NOT CONSENT
This is you.

At least a truck is pretty cool. Better than a "city compact" or whatever these enclosed go-karts are termed

oh yeah i loved that sonoma for that. i miss just looking back when i needed to back up. best feeling in the world when you can see everything so clearly

you couldnt go past 70, the thermometer wouldnt work, the battery kept dying, and it kept dying while i was driving.

boy do i miss the midnight marauder manlet mobile

People without insurance fucking suck. I don't like how unregulated insurance companies are here, but fuck anyone without insurance. Be happy it's enforced more in Europe.

story behind this?

captcha: select all images with cars

In my state is required. You can drive without it, just don't hit anything and don't get pulled over though if you don't want to pay the sheckle tax.

I pay 40 bucks a month, under 25 years old, for a 2008 Mazdaspeed 6.

America is great like that. I love the car culture in European countries, especially the prestigious tracks, but it cost an arm and a leg to insure any sporty car.

I pay $2,400 a year insurance for a diesel Golf in Kali...

I just don't complain desu

OP here.

I think France, Germany, Italy still have a car culture. The UK's has been largely eroded by the environmental and Health&Safety lobbies to the point where I think government policy is to make driving as expensive and unenjoyable as possible

Good to know there are burgers in the same boat desu

Soviet Michigan has mandatory no fault insurance. People pay twice as much or more for less coverage than other states.

>no fault insurance
What the fuck is that

no matter who causes the accident, both parties (and their insurers) pay for their own car's damage.

What the fuck
>Michigan
I bet a nigger thought of that, or a jew

That's fucked up. Like really.

In New Hampshire, you just need a couple grand in the bank to be able to cover someone's repairs if you're a dipshit. Except it's like $3500, so not even that much.

Although insurance is pretty cheap here anyways.

This senpai, really easy to get cheap insurance here if your car is registered in daddy's name

Not him but getting hit by an un-insured driver can be a bitch like nothing else. Your rates are higher for being in a state with no mandatory insurance, your rates will go up for making a claim, and you may be on the hook for medical bills because you don't usually get any money from broke people that have no insurance.

It doesn't have to do with insurance laws necessarily, it has to do with people's ability to pay and willingness to drive illegally.Florida has mandatory insurance and ridiculous rates, whereas my family down there pays quarterly what I do yearly as a 21 year old. Difference is, NH has a lot less illegals driving without insurance or the ability to pay.

I also live in NH and I don't think our rates are all that cheap, but granted I've never lived anywhere else. Also location factors for setting rates are more than just whether or not a certain state requires insurance.

>B-BUT AT LEAST WE HAVE FREE HEALTHCARE!!

you literally have to be dying to have any benefit living in a socialist shithole top kek

My insurance rates are around $2.2k a year. 19 male USA. I drive a fucking 2007 Corolla.
