Depends on the market I think. Strictly speaking of the American market, wagons may get phased out for CUV's. Different story in Europe, where wagons and hatches are more popular. I do hope wagons get more popular in the US though.

Are Mazdaspeed 3's (or just normal Mazda 3) considered hatches, or wagons? They're pretty large and pigfat for a hatch, but arent quite long enough to be a wagon.

Going to be replacing this lemon with a jdm forester turbo soon with plans to lift it and turn it into a forestry road beast. Anyone have any suggestions on things to look out for when buying foresters? My current impreza wagon has a boat load of problems. Differential bearings are shot, head gasket is externally leaking, exhaust needs to be completely overhauled, tires are worn, automatic, sometimes it backfires(might be because of the exhaust issues), hatch struts need to be replaced, clock doesnt work and theres some rear wheel well rust. Its done some pretty damn impressive things for me though. Gone up and down mountains on roads that it had no business going on and its quiet cozy to sleep in.

exactly, i fixed my axle today (for free too, the dumbshit who owned it before me replaced the cv but didnt torque down the axle/spindle nut) and my rustwagon felt so much better, then the wheel hub on the other side broke. baka
