good for what?

Slower than a modern honda civic without any of the comfort, safety, technology or gas mileage.

At least you'll get to look like an anime racerboy.

for what it is i guess

I have a base model thats still stock. For what it is, yes, otherwise no. I'm getting G35 MPG with half the power, and it has terminal cancer from rust I cant stop

It's a nissan ae86

It's a 10/10 car

Noodle chassis shitbox with a meh tier engine but id drive a type X

Addendum, just get an FRS if you want a car with potential but is shitty in stock form with a crap engine

What are some better cars with pop up headlights?

RX7

If you see a Nissan (not a Datsun or Infiniti) with numbers for a model name and no "Z" its shit.

are those good?

ya

in my opinion no
the dash is intrusive
kind of rides like a minitruck
not pretty at all either.
i would rather a Z31

how much is insurance on one of those? also which is the best gen?

Depends.

Age, accidents? Car age?

FC and FD masterrace.

in my opinion for someone like you, a 2nd gen GTU (trim level)
very cheap, simple. the later ones are very complex cars

They're alright stock, which is hard to find not riced or beat to death. You can build them to really whatever you want them to be, so long as you have the time and money

19 and zero accidents

FC can be very very good cars. the suspension design was superb in them.

Hard to say. Get some quotes, tell the insurance company that you're looking to get a xxxxxx and you're curious as to what they charge.
They really are. Japan had something awesome going on back in the '90s.

anything i should watch out for or go for when buying one?

It's a great chassis that got cucked by a truck engine

...

>It's a great chassis
It is literally a shit chassis.
Like you cant even comprehend how shitty it is.

just show us. we will tell you if it is a good one. we know from looking at it

NSX

>convertible
Shit

>S5
>vert
>rebuilt engine
Nope

are you sure you want a convertible? it seems like a decent price. they aren't good for performance however. not sure how insurance rates them

You guys got the 2.4ltr n/a so no its shit! If you can get the 2.0ltr sr20det then its good.

>sr20det
Its even worse than a KA.
Terribly designed engine

the engine was not what made it shit. read the thread

What about this one guys?
greenville.craigslist.org/cto/5700423413.html

greenville.craigslist.org/cto/5695455747.html

way too expensive for that thing.

>GSL
Yes
Very clean. Price is a bit high for my area.

No.

how much is it worth?

verts are for fags, and so is the word "vert"

Found the insecure fag

well taken care of and has a price to match, but limited with 4 lug wheel choices if going performance route

Yes but its heavily rice taxed and often abused. Now you can all go home.

fuck wrong one, but i was actually looking at that a while ago pretty rad.

Its already been proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, they are truely terrible cars.

I've daily driven my 240 for 3 and a half years, ask me anything

what would you rate it?

I'm not sure how you would go about rating a car

I'd rate it an 8/10 FOR ME, deduct one point for I wish it made more power, and one for I wish it had a/c.

>Easy to work on
>Cheap and easy to get parts
>Handle ok, very easy to improve
>Stock it is slow, but you don't really need power to have fun but it's not too hard to make one quick
>I like the interior but I guess that's personal preference
>is a blast to drive and does skids

If you're gonna leave it totally stock it might suck, ymmv

Also KAs are not bad motors, if you maintain it it'll take whatever you throw at it

(We) made it good. It's a cheap RWD platform, the 90s equivalent to the 86 and BRZ now.

It's unremarkable stock and the aftermarket is huge. You have options for handling, more power from the KA24, LS swaps, RB swaps, SR20DET swaps. It can be whatever you want it to be as long as you've got the time, skill and money.

The issue is finding one that isn't already molested beyond repair for you to ruin at your leisure.

Whoa. I took this picture.

Its easy to work on, has all the characteristics that make it a fantastic drift car, and a world of cheap aftermarket parts.

Thats what makes a car popular on Veeky Forums
Power and Dragracing is for rich grandpas.

good work

This is one of the most nothing exteriors i've even seen on a sport car. I'm also so confused about vaiuos SXs and Silvias.

It's a cheap Jap RWD shitbox with tuning potential. Yes.

yes
>dnt rice it out

Nah, that would be the Silvia s12...

How does it actually compare?

>the dash is intrusive
ahahahahahaha what

ahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahaha you have to be fucking kidding me, the s13 dashboard is one of the dash's in a car ever, Just look at it, everything important centered around the steering wheel, radio and AC smack dab in the center, and no BS on the passenger side, just a vent and the glove box where its supposed to be. You're fucking crazy to dislike the s13 dashboard.

>kind of rides like a minitruck

Maybe if you set it up wrong, stock it feels like a generic 90s car, but with a set of coilovers with properly valved shocks it will ride perfect. Also buddy people put s13 suspension on z31's all the time, because its good idiot.

>not pretty

I fell for the b8

I do like the z31 too though

>implying S-chassis dashes look like that

>coolant through the front cover
Most engines have the water pump as part of the front cover
>Gasket failure
Not any more than any other engine
>timing chain
only if you're a complete retard and replace the timing chain guide if they wear out. (its the loudest thing ever, you have to let it eat through on purpose)
>faulty MAF
Because people don't ever change their MAF, yeah they go bad after 120k miles on them no shit
>faulty injectors
See above
>poorly built wiring harness
The s13 harness is fine, idk what this pleb is talking about. Maybe he was one of the tards that slammed his car and let the wheel rub through the front harness like an idiot
>this guy gets his letters mixed around for the idle air control
Just like the MAF it gets dirty over time and has to be serviced every 100k miles or so. Or never if you take care of you car and run seafoam through that bitch and put a catch can on your breather. Every car gets carbon buildup over time. Also the IAC is right on the throttle body, not hard to remove at all.
>bs about sparkplug wires
>speed senors "only" last 200k miles waaaa
>a bunch of other bullshit that happens to every cheap 90s car.
>brakes are fine
>stock v stock its faster than a 1.8 NA miata

>steel control arms

The steel arms are fine, they're only a problem at super high Gs which you only get to by droping a bunch of cash on good wheels and coils, you're an idiot if you're spending a bunch of money on the car and don't upgrade the contorl arms. For drifiting and the casual AutoX they're fine.

Also you notice how the majority of that guys complaints are about the stock motor, and other problems with a car that has 200k miles on it and was never serviced? Guess what, a 200k mile FD RX7 or a NSX or even *gasp* an 86 would have the same if not worse issues if you never serviced the car.

Delusions are strong in this one

ive got 200k miles on the original dash and not a single crack on it, blow me

>faggy reupholstry
>douche drift button on ebrake
>no carpet
Im sure you have plenty of men sucking your cock fuccboi

You sound awfully mad

>and its convertible
Ohh hoooooooo
Ahahahahahahahahaha

I don't know what the 240 did to you to make you shitpost so much. But whatever it was my child one day you'll know what its like to enjoy a car for what it is

The vert is bitchin FYI, like a miata but you can roll four deep while cruisin through the city

ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/archive/index.php/t-37764.html?s=cbd95ed00cb8589aa4e66b6bb3ad3827

That sounds mad to you?

good for mad skidz

>Refutes all those points
>UHHHH UHHHH DELUSIONS!
wow you sure showed him.

>Im sure you have plenty of men sucking your cock fuccboi

sounds pretty upset to me

>only if you're a complete retard and replace the timing chain guide if they wear out.

And don't replace*

and not look like a fag either

Kek

Only thing on that list that is true about my 180sx is the cracked dash.

>If you're gonna leave it totally stock it might suck
Can confirm. It is a bittersweet feel.

who are you quoting?

>take floppy shitty chassis
>cut the top off and make it more floppy
Nissan quality
If you werent a retard, youd k ow those things are true and parts need replaced more often than most cars.
Same to you, ignorant tard

Which cars don't need them replaced as much?

It's glorious

80s rx7, 80s corolla.
Ive owned all three cars (including 240s)
Ive been part of car groups where people owned many of these cars.
Toyotas with 300k miles on stock coils and mafs and injectors.
Stock rx7s with 200k miles on stock everything (including mine)
Because they didnt cheap out like nissa did and always has with everything they build.
Its WELL known even on the S-chassis forums that the cars have a ton of issues.
When i had mine it was a nightmare and only had 100k miles on it.
Same with every friend that has one. They rarely drive them because they break so much.
Its painfully obvious just looking at them that they were poorly built. Especially noticeable when you wrench on them.
I drove my 240 to a field in the middle of nowhere and left it there. Hell i still have the title to it.

I know what a 240sx is but ive only seen 200sx.
Idk anything about those... Or its a meme badge.
Its slower than d17s and further.

They are slower than na8 miatas

The engine was the heartiest thing in the whole car. Sr20 a shit

Where did the bad gtr touch you? I guess you keep getting smoked by nissans and chevys to shitpost this much

You can get Mazda 323F with pop-ups, they are pretty cool and cheap

m8 take all that trash off.

mine has 230K miles on it and i've had no issues.

Guess that's the difference between someone who takes care of their things and some beaner living in a shack with 12 relatives off government cheese.

Or Toyota Celica with pop-ups

>one car lasted
>must mean they were all great cars
>never mind the 18 previous owners who all replaced parts 18 times each every 18 days.

>One car failed
>Must mean they're all bad

Lol.
Go to an S-chassis forum
Pic related probably hasnt moved since the timestamp suggests

It it as good as the ae86?

Not even close

>My laziness is nissan's fault

why?

Heavier, slower, floppier chassis

Is there anything as good as the ae86 that's really cheap? preferably with the same design or room
