>I don't like FF cars because Veeky Forums told me I shouldn't like them!

He isn't entirely wrong. As is, Acura is rebadged Honda. Infiniti and Lexus was rebadged Nissan and Toyota; now their lineup varies quite a bit.

>implying a RWD TL Type S with a 6 speed wouldnt have saved acura

what's wrong with their cars being FF exactly?

No, what could've saved Acura is firing everyone at their design department and making the designer of the that generation TL their head.

yeah they should fire their engineers and design team and take advice from busriding NEETs who post on the automotive subreddit of a mongolian claymation forum

add turbo

>tfw no RWD nissan march/micra k13
IMAGINE

Given their current sales figures it could actually work

the designer of the 3G TL posts on Veeky Forums? whats his trip

good cooling system

These are full-size sedans we're dealing with, not 90s Civics. Honda is the one company that does performance-oriented FF properly, but performance doesn't translate to luxury.

Also the Acura-badged DC2 looked ugly as fuck.

It was Corey all along.

agree

And some overall quality

...

>change all designs, models and tooling
>simple change

You want Acura to go through all that just so neckbeards who have never turned a wheel in anger will stop complaining about "muh FWD"? Jeez...I wonder why you're posting here instead of leading a hugefuckingtastic corporation.

>Acura
>Going RWD

and RUIN their interior space, design, any hope for a proper back seat - also increase cost, complexity, and lower efficiency

and probably ruin sales

>RWD Acura

its called lexus fuckboy

First of all, fuck off.

The FWD TL Type S was what made the brand.

Acura sold more TLs of that generation than BMW sold 3 series'. There was nothing wrong with the TL/ TL Type S and it didn't need to be RWD, that was one of the best cars Acura ever produced. Acura as a brand did not need to be saved at that point.

Secondly, Acura did produce a RWD TL
>The 2009 TL FWD used the old TL Type S engine
>The 2009 TL SH-AWD got an EVEN BIGGER new 3.7 engine

Sit there and tell me this wasn't the right move for the TL. In 2009, the base TL was basically a type S, and the SH-AWD version was an even more powerful AWD variant. I haven't even mentioned that the AWD drivetrain is heavily RWD oriented - which is a fact. Power on in a corner and the AWD will send more power to the rear wheels.

The only thing "wrong" with the new TL was how it looked. And Acura got such shit for the way it looked. Completely ruined the brand as a whole - just because of the looks because of people LIKE YOU.

But don't sit there and say a RWD Acura TL with a 6 speed would've saved the brand
Because that's exactly what Acura gave you in 2010. A RWD biased AWD 3.7L V6 Acura TL with a 6 speed MANUAL transmission with 305 HP!!!!

Fuck you. You don't know what you're talking about.

If you don't think that was the right move for the TL then you are out of your mind.

It's pretty common opinion that while FF has many advantages over FR, they are not as "fun".

Look at Acura's current demographic... I bet you 95% of their customers don't know what a RWD is or what wheel drive their car even has.

>RWD
Already done

>I should buy a more expensive honda accord for no reason

fiat/chrysler.
>inline six cylinder with twin turbos
>put it in grand cherokees, chargers, 300s, rams, etc

toyota
>inline six cylinder with twin turbos
>put it in tundra, tacoma, 4runner, lexus gs, is

chevy
>inline six cylinder with twin turbos
>put it in silverado, colorado, ss/caprice

Luxury cars are rwd for a reason fucktards.

a reason

>post none

Nissan
>building the same cars they did until ~15 years ago with more modern engine/general quality

Mitsubishi
>not cucking themselves into becoming some 3rd world econobox manufacturer

VAG
>they can do whatever the fuck they want, they are too big to fail

Better driving dynamics, comfort, handling, "feel"
A flagship car will never, ever be fwd

>AMG Mercedes
>manual option

>VW JETTA
>RWD

only retard woiuldn''t buy rwd jetta

>comfort

nigger, WHAT?

>heavily RWD oriented
>RWD biased AWD 3.7L V6 Acura TL
Not true. SH-AWD for the TL is FWD-biased, but it can send up to 70% to the rear when it needs to (e.g. cornering, acceleration).

>Also the Acura-badged DC2 looked ugly as fuck
I will find you, and I will fucking end you.

gonna have to fight me too fgt

dc2 a shit

>2016
>wheel drive

That's what he said
>Power on in a corner and the AWD will send more power to the rear wheels

Where the power goes doesn't matter when you're cruising on the highway

The same system in the MDX is rear biased, I think so it is possible.

But as somebody said, 80 percent don't know what rwd or fwd is and 95 percent don't care.

>acura
its literally FUCKING honda
when will these retarded automakers put everything under one name, holy shit

He's not talking about cruising, he's talking about it being RWD for performance reasons, which it clearly is not.

>Power on in a corner and the AWD will send more power to the rear wheels

Dude, even a rear wheel drive Accord would be the tits. All the v6's I've tried from 01' on have had some decent grunt to them, and even FWD it's a fairly nimble car if you take a little time to feel it out...

Or finally lower the cost a smidge more...
Seriously, it's been SO FUCKING LONG NOW. Why the FUCK else should it need premium making power we've had since the 80's anyway??

I still kinda want one, but come on dude..

Nigger, are you dense? Sending some power to the rear wheels when the car detects slip is not RWD. The TL is not a RWD car, and it's not even a rear-biased AWD car.

When Americans get over themselves and stop caring about luxury marques/brands.
>Friend says the only reason he doesn't like the NSX is because it's a Honda and if he's paying that much he much rather have a German car for status
plebs m8, plebs ruin everything

SH-AWD is NOT a slip and grip system. You're dumb for thinking that.

IDK why you're even talking about it if you don't know how it works.

Here is a beautiful video you can watch to educate yourself on SH-AWD.

The whole video is interesting

but the relevant information starts at 4:27 all the way to the end.

>BMW
Go back to inline 6 and stay away from turbos

>Toyota
>put out another sports oriented death-trap like the MR2 or Supra

>Mitsubishi
JUST

Because high compression in the cylinder. They used it to bump the horrid power up a bit.

>Nissan
>Getting rid of CVT transmissions

>that complexity

i'll take my FWD civic

wtf is wrong with you.

>Complains about no RWD TL
>RWD biased AWD TL exists
>"i'll take my FWD civic"

ok. die.

Or just improve their suspension. All Acura's seem to drive like the springs are made of rocks.

>implying front wheel drive handles worse
>implying fwd has worse driving dynamics

Clearly has not driven a Focus of any trim level.

I wouldn't because there is this thing called snow and interior space.

Doesn't even need that much, fix the fucking torque dip and it'd probably be fine

Fwd can be good but rwd will be better and feel funner.
The focus St is fun because it feels and acts like a rwd car

Or do rwd cars drive like the fwd Focus.

Either way fwd still offers greatly improved performance in poor road conditions.

A lot of sporty hot hatches are like that. It's mainly due to liftoff oversteer, when you let off the throttle and it sends all the weight back forward, so the rear wheels lose traction.

In my MS3, I love taking roundabouts quick in that thing. The suspension is super tight, and the rear starts to slide ever so gently if pulse on the throttle.

So like a new 924/944 but cheaper?

Yes

>all American manufacturers
Ceasing to exist.

Except Ford, of course.

>Why the FUCK else should it need premium making power we've had since the 80's anyway??
Because NA flat four. Boxer was a necessary evil but needs FI to really shine.

They'd never offer it with turbo from the factory. It'd eat right into WRX sales.

Ford is a Mexican manufacturer these days.
Toyota is a proper American manufacturer.

There is no competition.

>implying
Ford is the undeniable GOAT.

...

What Ford do you own, m8?

>tfw the age of Barra is coming to an end

>wins one race
Fuckin fanboys
Fuck Fordtards and GM fangirls

Can ford build a reliable car off the track?

Yeah, but those times are both wrong.

>Toyota
Toyota's lexus lineup has been nothing but stellar.
I remember when the LS400 came out, by the time I was able to consider one, I settled on a an Avalon XLS, still beating myself on not getting the bigger better RWD LS400 hell I could still be driving it today...

>ford
>stop making terrible automatics, stop making the car dashes sit in your lap

>Can ford build a reliable car off the track?
AusFord did. A nice family sedan with a 4.0l straight six for a heart and enough torque to pull a continent in its aspirated form.

>Toyota's lexus lineup has been nothing but stellar
To be fair it was mostly rebadged at one point. ES = Camry, IS = Altezza, GS = Aristo, and SC = Soarer. They've moved it all onto the New "N" Platform now and added the RC and CTh series while the surviving RWD Toyota Crown/Comfort models sit on the age-old N Platform.

>They'd never offer it with turbo from the factory. It'd eat right into WRX sales.

The ugly ugly truth rears its head
