1-2k for a car that can go over 120 is a pretty good deal. So eclipses are okay in my book

You can get a nice Miata for $2.5k, and then have a turbo kit, a good set of coilovers, an LSD, and wheels + tires. (partially by selling what you replace.)

It'll make it faster than a new corvette, but the issue with a lot of power on the miata is you have to be racecar driver tier to handle it thanks to gearing.

Also theres bolt on kits, and even then its easy as piss since its a small 90s jap engine. They don't blow up easy, and when they do its not catastrophic and you can usually just repair it

MR2 is hard to work on due to midship layout, I wouldn't fuck with a rotary, much less try to turbo one if you have no mechanical experience and aren't extremely dedicated to maintenance
