Convince me not to buy a Cayman S. I'm going to look at one on Wednesday.

Make sure to get it in stick, wayyy more reliable and service costs will be lower. Also, will improve resale value in the US
Sorry, should have clarified I'm looking at 2014s and 2015s, CPO.
Not gonna try to convince you not to get one, they're good cars.
LOL!! !
Because you can get one of those for the price of a used 2014-2015 Cayman.
Okay, with a blown up engine you probably can, but still.
They're really good cars.
But i like roadsters, so i personally would go with a boxster S.
One thing though OP, the interior is VERY small.
Everything in the interior, even the buttons are fucking tiny, atleast compared to me 986.
As you are buying used i advise you go for the more equipped car for the cheapest price you can find, as well equipped cars go for almost the same price as ones who aren't. (Chrome package, red chronometer and seatbelts, sports suspension etc)
>"hey man nice 911"
>"Its actually a cayman"
>"oh"
also eventhough the PDK is fantastic, i advise you get a manual one. It's got a lot of comfort and electrical things like automatic start stop etc, its just just a plain manual transmission.
also try your best to get a car that's atleast equipped with the sports seats. (applies to both the cayman and the boxster) They're much nicer looking and comfortable. Normal seats really lack comfort.
Said nobody ever
Why would I do that? They're great cars. Why not go older and get a lightly used one for like 30k?
More like
>"Hey man nice Porsche"
Get a used GD-chassis STi.
Stock-for-stock the performance of the old Subaru is faster than or equivalent to all Caymans except the GT4 version (which I doubt you're looking at [but how would I know?] ). The Subie is limited to 155mph, but buy a used Cobb AccessPort v2 for ~$150 and suddenly it'll reach ~175mph (comparable to the newest Caymans' top speeds) (I know this from experience; I hit 173 in mine before it was done accelerating).
The Subaru will also have 5 adult-sized seats and plenty of trunk space for daily life. It'll also DD well in the snow if that's an issue. Also, base price, maintenance, insurance, and parts are all cheaper for the STi... Not to mention, the STi can be extensively modded and you will still be saving money off of a Cayman S.
Though if you really want a lightweight RWD-mobile then I completely understand.
But, if you just want to be "that guy with a Porsche" to rando people then I completely don't understand.
Also, if you want a Cayman S but would reject an STi because it "is too ricey" then I, again, completely don't understand.
how much do they retail for? I'd rather get an f-type with the rwd v6 manuel
The one I am looking at is a Cayman S with 6,000 miles for $60,000
>recommending an unreliable boyracer piece of shit instead of a god tier German-built sports car
Shiggy diggy.
dude, get the f-type new for 65k. Nobody can say the porsche looks nicer, let alone the sound of the jaguar
>Buying any porsche other than glorious 911 or new panamera
>laughing girls
But for real, driven one last month. Had lots of fun, great car. As long as you can live with jokes like Porsche Gayman...
>Nobody can say the porsche looks nicer
Guess again. The Porsche looks nicer.
I'll even go one step further.
The Porsche Boxster, the Porsche Cayman, and the Porsche 911 all look much, much nicer than the Jaguar F-Type.
>The Porsche Boxster, the Porsche Cayman, and the Porsche 911 all look much, much nicer than the Jaguar F-Type.
how can one be so wrong..
youtu.be
I used to be an F-Type fanboy just like you. Nostalgia is hitting me hard.
The F-Type is beautiful but the Cayman, Boxster, and 911 are the epitome of alpha male cars.
god i hope these things deprecate hard within the next 5 years
>but the Cayman, Boxster, and 911 are the epitome of alpha male cars.
b-but that's not the 944 or 928
damn that quote is fedora quality
>he unironically posted this
You a fucking noob. A Cayman relates to more driving experience than a 911.
Make sure to get a hard top, that way you don't risk making a mess of your hair when you inadvertently press the wrong button and open the roof.
>people are actually this fucking crazy
>unironically comparing a riced out jap scrap sedan to arguably the best bang for buck sports car available in the market
Reaching brosifine levels of retardation there, buddy.
Idk if you should. All the ones I've driven have been pretty bad. And I for one have no reason to doubt the accuracy of need for speed.
I never considered the Cayman a dream car but the 911 because at 50-80k it's more of an attainable one.
Get the 981 cayman and save your money. There you go. Looks better anyways.
I'm a Subaru fanboy, and I'm going to suggest OP ignore this post.
Shut the fuck up.
