Garbage/10

Please hurry

Do you guys ever go to actual bike specific forums?

Make sure you get a new one for your Ninja 250 you faggot

Only when I want to talk to adults.

i dont like the looks of any of the current rf-1200's

revzilla.com/shoei-rf-1200-helmets

which is unfortunate because its my fav helmet in terms of safety and wearability

I'm saving up to buy an XSR900 but now i've heard ducati is about to release a Scrambler 1200.
farrk.
PRobably another $5000 AUD but.

Jimmie rustled because you have bad taste? Kek

If i need actual help, yes.
If i want some entertainment or looser conversation, ill be here.
Forums are a little too serious for me,

Yea. Because unlike dbt it's full of people who actually have motorcycles

guys what's the best helmet at $350 or under?

Brakeline user here, was out getting everything I need. Just want to make sure I understand everything technically before I fuck it up mechanically.

>study
I guess this is my Q&A section..
So what I want to do is flush my brakes because current blake fluid is old as fuck and lines are old as fuck.

Is there a difference between "bleeding' and 'flushing'? I've read not to leave the reservoir dry at any point when bleeding (why?) but the manual that came with new brakelines says "bleed and dry out" the brake system..so
I actually have to do is open the nipple to the point where fluid flows out, close it when no more fluid is flowing out, dry out reservoir/master cylinder, throw new lines on, fill reservoir with new fluid, bleed again, clean up and call it a day?

>lazy fuck
yep. I got tubing though, all good.
Just to be clear, master cylinder refers to the box and the lines connected to it, and reservoir is just the part of the box where the fluid goes?

>keeping it level
I'm using a kickstand so the whole thing is leaning over. Is that problematic? I'll find someone to hold it steady.

As for squeezing the brake lever:
Slowly squeeze and then open the nipple, right? Then squeeze down all the way (I've read not to bottom out) and keep it there?

guys is it ok if i get a girl's helmet

motorcycle-superstore.com/63312/i/shoei-womens-rf-1200-duchess-helmet

...

>'bleeding' and 'flushing'
nevermind figured it out. Flush it dry, swap lines, bleed until no air left. While bleeding, don't release the brake lever all the way, but I do have to give some slack and then squeeze again, yes? And keep doing that, instead of a slow squeeze all the way to the bar?

...

who is this

You can release the lever all the way. Just dont let the fluid level in the resovior get too low or it will suck air.

When you squeeze the lever dont do it fast as you can aerate the fluid and make it harder for yourself again.

wr's bf

Yeah, i go on a few.
dbt is for talking about autistic shit and posting the same images that can't be doxxed.

cool I can finally post again

Nah man

/dbt/ sure is slow today

wasn't a ban. ISP got blocked "due to abuse" for whatever reason

they're all on pol's trump general

My phone has a blanket ban for "abuse" too, sucks when you want to post, work has wifi but blocks you from posting here. Shit /a/ is banned at work because it's a malicious site kek

Trump /pol/ ama or bust.

Learn to change dns servers dumbass.

Not easy, trust me I use a VPN to bypass bullshit but Veeky Forums bans most VPNs for posting, most of the time I lurk knowing I can't post.

What's a good tool to speed up the process of cleaning and lubing my chain?

I've seen that three sided brush at ridenow powersports but it was much too expensive. I bought some Motul cleaner and lube. The first time I cleaned/lubed my chain it was very messy. I tried placing a towel behind the chain to catch and overspray (the two cans of Motul I use are the spray type) but it was clumsy and didn't work.

My rear tire's sidewall was covered in lube and not only did it look really shitty and add a tad of danger, but it never seemed to clean off. Luckily those tires were 14 years old and have been replaced already.

Looking to not fuck that up again.

Any tips for doing it cleanly? She begs for me to mount her tonight but I refuse to ride her like a dirty slut until I get her lubed. Chain is noisy again

Some of us aren't retarded, but have our moments.
>pic related

I bought a cable luber tool from the local Ducutty/Katie Em. dealer and lubed the throttle cables on the DR650. Also installed my jet kit for it just now after cleaning the bejeebus out of the carb. I haven't put the bike back together because I think the engine-side carb boot is shot. It's cracking in places; thin cracks, but I think it's getting worse bit by bit. Somehow I get the feeling it's going to be like $90 for the damn thing. I also discovered that my filter needs cleaning and oiling badly, so that's also on the list for this week.

I got a bit mad when removing the carb, too. The little plastic screw-thing that holds the little brass choke cable holder had broken, so I had to use a pocketknife to ever so slowly rotate it out. I've got it glued back together and curing right now; I hope grip glue works since I cannot find my superglue and I'll be damned if I go to the store for a third time today.

Best cheap (used) standard motorcycle for a beginner? The sticky post is oriented around sport bikes which I'm not interested in.

I asked a similar question a while back and user said to put a fan on the opposite side of the wheel facing towards you to keep the excess from flying off onto your brake rotor

Are you a trap or just a man in a dress?

get a grunge brush (the 3 sided one you cheapshit)
use kerosene to clean the chain and when you re lube it use a scrap of cardboard to catch overspray

I'm having a hell of a time picking new tires for the Tiger.

Matte black AGV Corsa.

You could Look at some scorpion gt2000s, but I think the headshape is long oval. I think an RPHA 10 is around 350 as well.

>I tried placing a towel behind the chain to catch and overspray

That's how i've always done it.

I usually take the chain guard off, drape a towel or rag up and over the back wheel between the front and rear chain sprockets, then i'll clean it thoroughly with a soft tooth brush, just leaning it up on the side stand and rotating the back wheel as I go (if you've got a centre stand even better), then once it's clean do the same again but with chain lube.

>Any tips for doing it cleanly?

Get a shaft drive bike?

>Best cheap (used) standard motorcycle for a beginner? The sticky post is oriented around sport bikes which I'm not interested in.

Where do you live?

Budget?

How fast do you need to go?

I thought you were going for the Heineken K20/40/60/80 or whatever they're called. Oh yeah, was that little bitty restaurant at the T-intersection by the runway in Timberon still in business? Lady who ran/runs it (Connie) is cool as fuck.

Ninja 250

I need to go at minimum 150mph

how do i git gud?

VMAX then.

Twist of the Wrist.

Although it won't make you good, it'll just make you less shit.

I'm not sure? I noticed there were quite a few restaurants/cafes open in Timberon though.

I could get a K60 on the rear but I think I'm doing an Anakee III on the rear. Tord for choice on the front. Shinko 705s are the cheap option but probably meh, Pirelli MT60 Corsas look nice but are twice as much as the 705, and of course TKC 80 but then that's a 40/60 on front and 80/20 on rear.

SVrider has some good insights to bike specific questions, but I don't actively browse it, it's just comes up on google

>pic related
And then ride more.

Austin, under $1000, probably won't even take it on the freeway

>rainy night rides alone with sad music

>Austin
Are you a hipster? I somehow get the feeling you're a hipster and want a cafe. I hope not, though.

Yeah? I only knew of two plus the bar and community center. The only place I ever ate up there was at that little one; I'm glad there's some commerce going on up that way.

>Shinko 705
That's what's on the front (and rear) of my V-Strom. The front barely looks worn. It's a little nervous on gravel, general grip is moderate, does OK in the wet. Not a great tire but it works. Certainly not the worst you could buy.

i have a feeling id look like a stoner if i tried that (ayy lmao)
how would cardboard be different than a towel? they're both a barrier. It was very cumbersome - spray, rub with brush, remove barrier to be able to rotate wheel and move the chain along, replace barrier, spray, brush....maybe im just a fucktard?
solid advice, thanks. luckily i bought a fully faired sport bike with a stock center stand so it makes it easier. IDK why i didnt think of removing the chain gaurd....lol
>owning a shaft drive bike
the only shaft that gets driven in my life is my cock into a meatpurse. (if you couldn't tell by now im too Po to own a shaft bike)

sounds terrible

Well that's that. Essentially flipped a coin kek

There was a large restaurant, 2 cafe things and a pizza place all on the short route I took out of town.

who else likes to use weed or adderall on their midnight solo yolo 2 hour rides? your senses will never come more alive
>inb4 junkie
once a week aint shit. probably less than you jack off to anime shemale porn, asshole.

xlnt. You'll have to let me know how they do! I'd like to get some nicer tires when I wear these ones out.

>restaurants
Damn, the place must've boomed all of a sudden! Or maybe it's just what they do in the summer, but still.

i really do want to start smoking weed

if you set up the cardboard right you can just spin and spray until youre done and pull it back out.
rags wont stand up

Next time you're in the market for tires check this place out. Tires are damn cheap and free shipping.

americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php

I don't expect crazy life from the MT60 but hopefully it instills some confidence offroad

>not owning a glorious shaft drive BMW or Guzzi

Awesome, thanks.

The little MotionPro cable luber tool is a bit messy but worked well, even with my DR's curved throttle cable ends. $10 or less little thing. What do you usually use? I also need to figure out if the V-Stronk has Teflon-lined cables or regular ones before I go and do something silly.

its pretty nice at the end of a long hard week and you're looking to unwind. I take no more than 3 hits and put it away and im good.

I just got a dunlop rear at my local shop and they only charged $120 on "end of season" sale, which is $15 cheaper than that website

Alright thanks.
i learned while i was a technician that euro/italian designed cars and bikes are very differently designed all the way down to the type of fasteners, and the last thing i want to do is spend so much more time and money stocking up the tools to do so. i can tackle and jap or domestic machine and a decent little chunk of euro....but thats as far as i wanna go. im more comfy with 'Murrica shit.

bouts ready to rev up those memes and go for a nice cool desert ride. Fuck trafffic.

Also whoever the bro was that went way out of his way to get my attention and flag me and scream 5 times that my rear running lights were out, thank you. when i pulled over to check there was a cop sitting in the dark..saved my ass
>tfw you should post on missed connections

Good for you user.

I have the Motion Pro one as well. Or do you mean what cable lube I use? I use pic reated but next time will probably just buy something more generic

Also, where do you live that August is the end of the season?

fucking michigan

>not riding in the snow

Step up nigga

I'm in Iowa. I just moved here last December and managed to ride at least a few days even during the Hell of winter. Of course, Michigan is all kinds of fucked...

I was wondering what tool you used (if any). I just bought some semigeneric 6-in-1 from the dealer when I was there. As long as it makes the cables slide then that's all I really care about. hah

I rode on christmas day, but it was like 60 degrees because michigan

New can came in, it came with Delkevic Silicoine Exhaust Sealent. That's good to use right or should I get something else

Are Nighthawk 650s good bikes for reliable cruising? Not looking for a Harley and I'm outgrowing sportbikes.

Yeah I have the motion pro one, or one that looks exactly like it anyway.

lel whut
no homo m8

this is the helm you require

Complete noob here, what are some good starter bikes? Only thing close enough i've ever ridden is ATVs and bicycles.. My friend has an 05 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 that he would give me for $2,350. It sounds like a good deal considering theres only 2k miles on it. It would be my around town/to work vehicle in the warm months, its a 20 minute farmland drive. Maybe some light highway/freeway driving thrown in.

Getting my power commander in the mail tomorrow, Akrapovic exhaust on Thursday, installing it all on Friday.

I'm pumped.

>tfw got 90% of the stuff I need to make ice tires

>I'm outgrowing sportbikes.
If only /dbt/ could follow your lead. According to the cucks here if you don't have a Sportbaik you're a shit.

An 05 with 2k miles means it's sat almost its entire life. Bikes go bad if they're not ridden. Get an SV650.

My first bike was a Vulcan 500. It's nothing fancy and you won't look cool on it, but it's bulletproof and a solid first bike. It'll do everything a noob could possibly want, it's not slow and will quite happily cruise at 80mph on the interstate. It's significantly better than a faggot Ninja 250

Nice m8. How are you liking the FJ?

whatever it comes with should be fine

Still love it, a ton of fun, you still have the Tiger, I think?
